Christina Hendricks is the only person who I want to see play Maggie at this moment.
MICHELLE WILLIAMS!!!
Love her, but, no.
Raven-Symone on the other hand....
Keep Michelle Williams as far away as humanly possible.
AC, I used to want to meet you and discuss theater but you are now officially dead to me.
DEAD TO ME, I SAY!
Oh, Jordan, we can still meet and talk and drink and love on each other. Just as long as you don't bring up Michelle Williams ever.
Christina Hendricks' chi-chis are just too damn big- Maggie spends all of act one in just a slip- the audience wouldn't listen to a word.
Michelle Williams doesn't seem to have the right nervy sexuality for Maggie so you two both can go stand in the corner together.
Scarlett is too young but otherwise good casting.
Fine!!
Then if Michele can't do it, can Edie Falco?
Christina Hendricks as Maggie would make me question why I've been sleeping with men all these years.
So, I say BRING IT.
Christina Hendricks makes me question why I sleep with men every time I see her.
I have that reaction everytime I see Jennifer Tilly.
Precisely why she is wrong for the role- Brick is supposed to be drunk and a closet case but not clinically insane for not wanting to sleep with her.

Michael, as the first one to suggest Mrs. Hendricks i'll come to bat on that one. Maggie is trying to seduce Brick and by some extension the audience should know that. They should start to wonder why brick isn't sleeping with her, leading to later revelations, so i don't think her chi-chis would prove much of a problem, especially once she started to really tear into the material. The play even says at one point that he used to sleep with Maggie, but due to her knowing the truth about his sexuality and in his view contributing to the death of his partner he will never sleep with her again.

Winslet?
Winslet..maybe.
Laurie Metcalf as Sister Woman.
Christina Hendricks can play the role only if at the end of the play she pins Brick to the mattress with those dirty pillows.
Winslet doesn't seem right either- she might be a good Hannah Jelkes in IGUANA though.
Nah it's fun to throw around suggestions but in terms of a star draw who is right for the role of Maggie it's hard to improve on ScarJo.

I really don't know why your acting like there that big a deal, Maggie herself knows she has ample advantage in that area, the text even mentions her drawing attention to them around brick. He stopped sleeping with her due to tragedy not just because of being a drunk closet case, she slept with his partner, got the partner to realize he was gay, and in a way in bricks mind contributed to his death. He's not just not sleeping with her because he only likes men, it's trauma he even mentions having slept with her before so...

I'm saying the audience would be distracted to the point of barely paying attention To the play- it happened during COMPANY and she had her top off for two minutes- in CAT those girls are out for what accounts to a 45 minute monologue!
I'm being a little silly here but in truth - mostly for reasons other than her bra size- - I don't think Hendricks would be a great choice for the part. Maggie's sexuality is (in my view) is salt of the earth and primeval- shes a live wire- she is not a soft sensual character gay men would fantasize being oddly aroused by.

Sherie?

That's the last way I would describe Hendricks' sexual magnetism.
What about Fairuza Balk?
The best Maggie according to most was Elizabeth Ashley in the 1974 revival- they actually recorded the production for TOFT- she is totally mesmerizing and perfect - she has the kind of raw sexuality of a surviver- Maggie is basically poor white trash who came from a decent name and made good by marrying into money- her ruthless resolve to win is rooted in that energy- i can see Scarlett pulling that off in a way that might be similar to the way Kathleen Turner approached the role. I just don't see Hendricks having that specific brand of sexuality. To me she is more like Monroe or Jayne Mansfield

I love the Sherie suggestion, She would have been a perfect Maggie for the '03 Revival instead of Judd. Sadly, it seems there looking for a star and a young one at that so i don't see Scott being considered.

John C. Reilly as Brick in the next Roundabout production.
You don't think that Williams displayed nervy sexuality in My Week with Marilyn, Michael? She might be more versatile than you think.
I'm really surprised that a top director hasn't already made another feature film version with the uncut script. It's begging to be done.
