Mmmm. "Woman in White" wasn't scary for me when I saw it. Actually, I was a bit bored by it until "All for Laura", Maria Friedman's big song before intermission. Maybe it had to do with Crawford being out and feeling like the understudy just wasn't QUITE seizing Fosco... but I just sorta drifted through the show until then. Act II was far superior, IMO.
Lesse... what HAS scared me... I guess if you were younger, "Jekyll and Hyde" might be scary, yeah. However, at the time I saw the show I was pretty infatuated with the score, so I was more thrilled than terrified.
