Maybe they wanted water bottles in the theatre, which broke Rudin's 1st commandment.

All joking aside, I am genuinely curious what the alternative could have been. Anyone have any actual ideas? One would think that the default would be that the production would remain more or less the same when it transferred.

Of course it will remain more or less the same, his problem is that that isn't the show he originally had in mind.
