Depends on what you rather - brilliant ensemble acting of a gorgeously poetic script (Seafarer) or Nathan Lane at his best working with tired material (November).

November. The other shows that you are already seeing are great choices too! Have a wonderful trip!

I'd have to say November.

THE SEAFARER, in my opinion, wasn't anything to write home about.
I haven't seen NOVEMBER yet.
But if you're looking for a good play, I highly recommend IS HE DEAD?
It is absolutely HILARIOUS, with great comedic performances all around.
Lots of physical, old fashioned comedy.

I vote for November. It's not nearly as "deep" a show as The Seafarer, but it's very funny, and Nathan Lane is on top of his game. I had a better time at that than I did at The Seafarer, which honestly bored me.

I had said N2N since you said if there was something else.
But between the two, count me in the "didn't care for The Seafarer" group. I'd go with November if you're set on one of those two.

He said in his first post that he wanted to see a play.

Well, on here, unless they say "straight play" it's hard to know for sure. Yeah, I use musical for musical, and play for play, but a lot of people on here don't. If it's on stage, it's a "play".

SEAFARER! Loved it so much I saw it twice...Bought a TDF ticket for November in previews and thought it was on about the level of a not-great TV sitcom, honest!

SEAFARER!!!!!!!!!!!
I've seen it 3 times, and I'm going at least 5 more (I'm working on 6 :) )
I would see it every day if I could
It's funny and smart, beautifully written and heartbreaking
And the performances of all 5 cast members are absolutely flawless

yankeefan007----I just returned from seeing November (haven't seen Seafarer) and I agree with you---the story is so-so, but Nathan Lane was at his best. I don't think I would've enjoyed the show as much if it wasn't for his performance -- altho' the other actors did well---it was just that the material was just ok. (IMO)

All I've seen of NOVEMBER are the tv commercials, which show one lame, tired, predictable one-liner after another.

You can't go by those commericals. November is worth seeing strictly for Nathan, the material is so-so, but his performance is worth the $$. There is no one on stage today that comes close.
The only review of a show that matters is your own.
