Deciding on seating, and love seeing shows close, but anyone ever sit in the second row? Too close?

I just did side orchestra, aisle, row C this weekend, and it was perfect (except for Keala being out sick...)

I think anywhere in the theater is amazing, so second row must be fantastic. I saw it this past weekend to with SRO and it was an amazing view I could see everything, so I think you'll be fine wherever! Thought thought kealas understudy was amazing. I also sat in row H before, and That was really good so I think you'll have the perfect view!

Agree. But Keala was one of the reasons I really wanted to see it... loved her in HOAHB and Les Miz.

Oh okay gotcha yeah in sorry she was out then :/ you should definitely see it again if you have the chance to! Also, regarding the seating again if you search waitress the musical on yelp there are various pictures from up close that could give you an idea of how the view is

I sat front row Center day after TONY noms weren't announced. Felt like I was LITERALLY pulling up a seat in Lulu's.

I sat in the second row there for Spring Awakening and had an amazing view. Saw waitress from a different sport in the theater but from what I can tell it'll be a good view from there.

I got my tickets at TKTS on 9/11 Sunday (Jessie's last performance before the unannounced 1 week vacation). Got 7th row Orchestra right 4-5 seats from the aisle at 50% off. My friend who got there much later than me got even better seats, orch center premium seats at 50% off.
As for a sugesstion, I honestly think mezzanine would have been a better choice for this show. I couldn't see the stage too well which I think would be crucial to give you a diner feeling.

I sat front row center on the aisle and it was great except the stage was pretty high and sometimes the tables in the diner blocked me seeing some of the actors on stage.
I sat 2nd row dead center for Spring Awakening and it was much better - I think the stage for Waitress is a bit on the higher-than-usual side.

The stage for the show is high and if you seated house right you will have the diner tables in your way. Also, do NOT get seats on the side past 7 or 8. I sat Row B and the end of the aisle and it is definitely partial view. They will tell you that you'll only miss the band but that is incorrect. You miss the entire back wall of the show, most of the movement by the ensemble and the tables are very in the way of many scenes. We moved over 3 seats at intermission because the people did not show up and it was better. But stay away from anything after seat 7 on the left or seat 8 on the right. The sides are probably much better if you are farther back.

I got a ticket through TKTS to see it on an evening over Labor Day Weekend. I forget what the exact seat was, but it was in the orchestra, around the middle in terms of front to back, but on the extreme leftmost seat. It was a nice show and I got to see most of the action, but due to the angle and being so far to the left I couldn't see what was going on behind the counter, so I know I missed some action. Still didn't take away too much from the show for me!

there's a seat right next to the sound board, technically called "obstructed view" but if you lean forward a tiny bit you can see everything -- it was half the price of the seat right next to it. I think you can only get it at the box office -- I got it an hour before curtain. It's right in the center, and because it's in the back of the orchestra you can really smell the pies baking in the lobby. You might want to be closer, but you save a lot of $ in that seat.

Not at all! I have sat rear mezzanine a few times at the Brooks Atkinson and it has always been a perfectly fine view!

Has anyone sat in the front orchestra sides? Like right orchestra side seat 18? Or any side seat? They aren't listed as partial view, but I am worried about missing out? Can someone let me know what their experience was there?
