Seating question for Take Me Out at the Helen Hayes

I am preparing to get tickets on Jan 8 when they go on sale for non subscribers but am not sure what to expect in terms of seating availability. Does anyone know if all the center orchestra will already be taken by season ticket holders? Also my sister and I really like front rows in most shows but is that too close for this show? What I'm getting at is will I miss the :shower scene"// lol Thanks for any input. WE have not seen anything in the Helen Hayes before and I am aware that it's a smaller theater.

I saw Lobby Hero at the Helen Hayes last year. My seat was L 8, which is in the rear of the right orchestra. Since the theater is small, I think there are no bad seats there and my view wasn't obstructed at all. However, I remember the stage being quite tall, so I would definitely go with seats several rows back.

We know how the shower scene was staged in the original production but don't know how they'll handle it in the revival.

The stage at the Hayes is tall. I saw Torch Song from front row and there were obstructions when folks were upstage. When folks were downstage you never saw feet and sometimes not calves. There’s no way to answer your question until the show starts previews as no one has insight into staging.

If you want to see the whole show go mid center orchestra. If you are interested in a proctologist’s view you’ll have to wait until previews start to purchase.

I agree that the stage is high at the Helen Hayes. I sat in H 1 for Lobby Hero and it was a great view. I sat in E 2 for Linda Vista and it was close, but I could see everything, but I didn't like having to look up a little. I think row E ended up being the second row, so I decided to sit further back for Take Me Out and am in J 2. I don't think that you should have a problem booking a couple of center orchestra seats when the public sale starts.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I think I will try for middle center orchestra. I don't want to wait til the reviews start. lol My sister and I are seeing 14 shows on our May trip and this is our last ticket to get.and I am most excited for it..

I should have mentioned that I am a subscriber, and subscribers have been able to book seats already, which is why I have J 2.

Center orchestra is currently quite sold. Row B has 8 seats, H has 2, J has 6, K has 2. Then the next seats in center orchestra are in row P, Q and R. Lots of side seats including some aisle pairs (like my J 2). If you PM me, I can probably find a way to send you a screenshot of the seatmap. Subscriber guest tickets are priced at 111.75. If you couldn't get center, then J 2-4 and J 1-3 would be choices.

I was there tonight for Grand Horizons. When I bought tickets during the Black Friday say, it didn't include orchestra, so I gor first row in the mezzanine and those are very good seats.

Can someone who saw the original production of this show tell me how long the performance was? The weekend I am going they have a 1:00 Sunday matinee. Is it a short enough show that I could hurry and catch a 3:00 show right after?

EDIT: Never mind. Just looked up and saw it is a 3 act play. No way! LOL!

I have the choice for either 2nd last row of orchestra or 2nd row of mezz. Both in the centre. Never been to the theatre before so any advice appreciated.

That is the last tickets we needed for our 14 show May Trip.
