September Broadway Trip

I will be in town September 7-11 and I am looking to see three shows when I am in town. I know it's a slower time for Broadway when I am there, but would love to see a few shows you all recommend.

I am looking for a show for Thursday night, Friday night and Sunday matinee. Are there any long-running shows in great shape? I wouldn't mind seeing a play or two.

Some shows I am looking at are:

- Hello, Dolly! with Donna Murphy (Bette is out the weekend I am there)

- Prince of Broadway

- A Doll's House Pt. 2

- The Play That Goes Wrong

- Bandstand

- A Bronx Tale

- War Paint (Saw it in Chicago, but would love to see "Pink" again)

- I am also not against going Off-Broadway!

I second the Come From Away recommendation! Especially in September so close to when it all happened, I imagine it's going to be very emotional and poignant.

I really enjoyed Miss Saigon and Bandstand as well and both have fairly cheap tickets.

As far as plays, A Doll's House Pt. 2 is a good choice as well!

The Play That Goes Wrong is a ton of fun, but only if you abandon all intellect at the door. It's total slapstick, low-brow humor, but I personally loved it (and I'm usually into super witty stuff, so it was actually surprising how much I enjoyed it).

It's not on your list, but I always throw The Great Comet out there. It's the best show of the season imo, but you have to be open to, well, weirdness, because it's not at all like a normal Bway show.

Off your list, though, the only other one I'd probably recommend is Bandstand, assuming it's still open come fall. It's not a particularly good show, but it's a lot of fun and the choreography is amazing, if you're into dance-y shows.
