With all the musical references in Family Guy, it's pretty clear that he's very popular with the musical theatre crowd of America. And his voice is soooo good. I think it would be really cool if he did a show on Broadway. I think he would make an excellent Julian Marsh in 42nd Street or maybe the Beast in Beauty and the Beast and so many more. What roles do you see him in?

you're the worst thing to happen to broadway since seusical!

lol no you're thinking of "You're the worst thing to happen to musical theatre since Andrew Lloyd Webber!" and "This is worse than Suessical!" lol my fave quote is:
Peter: "Look Brian there's a message in my Alphabits, it'ss aying 'Oooooooooh!'
Brian: "Peter, those are Cheerios." lol!!! I love it!

haha. yes... what can i say... i watch those dvd's so often that the jokes have melded for me! i loved that cheerios joke too! remember when lois directed the king and i?
My roommate ADORES Family Guy, and has started to get me into it. In that episode with the King and I, there's a line about RENT, and I get really upset every time I hear it!

i was trying to remember the rent joke, but i couldn't... do tell.

yeah I love the King and I episode! I remember when they mentioned Rent in that episode but I can't remember exactly what they say! Did anyone watch last night's episode? "Whoa! Whoa! Whoa Whoa whoa WHOA etc." lol BRILLANT!
Seth MacFarlane REALLY needs to release an album of Broadway standards. I would do anything to hear him sing a full version of "If Ever I Would Leave You."

i totally agree, he needs to. I loved that bit of "If Ever..." that he sings on The King and I episode! His voice is soooo sexy! Have you bought the Live in Vegas cd? It's wonderful in my opinion and sings a lot as Brian on there which is technically his real voice.
Peter just says something about how if you wanted a bad musical, you might as well just go see RENT.

I love this show. But I have to say I loved FUTURAMA also.
To be fair, Emcee, a LOT of shows get slammed in that episode, and others as well. My personal favorite was when Peter somehow crashed through the Winter Garden Theater and mowed down Munkustrap during a show of CATS. "I am SO sorry!!" And the "Miss Saigon" thing: "La-la-la-la-la-Miss Saigon la-la-la-la-la-Miss Saigon..."
I do have that CD, BwayBaby! Grrrrowff...

"Don't be discouraged- there was an all-You-People version of "Hello, Dolly!" once."
And who could forget Peter singing his own version of "Everything's Coming up Roses" to Meg, after he stopped talking to Chris(tobel)?
This show is a love letter to Broadway.

bwaybaby, i missed last night's episode... mother's day stuff... so annoying... i was upset! there was a dreamgirls thing once too... i forget though.
Oh, I thought it was funny, I was just like "whoaaaaaa buddy!" at first. Kind of like Forbidden Broadway - you laugh most at the shows you really love.
Ah yes..."For meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee(commercial break)eeeeeee!"

lol I love the commercial break in that! I love all the parodies like "Give Up the Toad" which is Better Shape Up from Grease and "The Life of the Wife" which is The Rain in Spain and so on and so on. It's funny because Seth loves Rex Harrison which he based the character of Stewie off of. Another interesting fact is that Seth took voice lessons from a 90 year old couple that taught Frank Sinatra! Yay!! I love him! This man can do anything. I think my fave song on the show is "You've Got a Lot to See" when Brian sings it to that old lady, and it won an Emmy too!

"The life of the wife is ended by the knife."
"I think she's got it!"
"The life of the wife is ended by the knife."
"By George, I think she's got it!"
That's possibly my favorite episode.

There's also a lot of references to plays that Brian's doing, but I can't remember any off the top of my head.
The best song sequence is the one where Brian and Stewie are in the Egypt and they have to escape or something. And then Stewie doing the duet show with the b*tchy little girl. Sorry, these are vague references, my brain's fried with finals.
family guy kicks serious ass! and wow was the law and order bit last night great!

The Law and Order part was hilarious! Thank God this show is back on the air and hopefully for a long time.

Why must they show Family Guy opposite Desperate Housewives? I still haven't figured out how to use our new VCR... I guess I should learn...
lois: wait a minute. no one's slapping anybody. this is rodgers and hammerstein, not trash tv.
dianne [newsreporter]: i think peter may be on to something. springer is one of our station's highest rated shows.
lois: i don't know...
peter: i thought you wanted to do a good show. if you want to do a bad show, why don't we just do rent.
