Maybe it happened because Reidel mentioned on Wed. that MTV was prostituting Elle Woods (they spelt it wrong).
I wonder if they were quite audible? Maybe if they were that is how the cast noticed.
CATS,
Yes it did happen at the palace. Yes there was also that story of the cast during all shook up. But, the theatre is totally coincidental. I don't find these stories to be fabricated at all for a couple of reasons. First off they aren't posted on here every other day. If they were to some frequency I would have trouble believing them. But, considering the fact that they are not posted constently gives them some sense of credibility.
Also, it is known that people who have no sense of theatre manners at all do these sorts of things. I can't tell you the number of actors blogs I have read where they talk about this. Lea Salonga had an entry in her blog during her run in Les Miserables about how there was a young couple making out and it was visible to the whole cast.

Hey, some people get a heightened "kick" out of having sex in public. Whether it be a kink of trying to keep it secret, or actually liking to be watched, some people totally adore it.
Just sayin'...
I worked as assistant House Manager at the Adelphi theatre in London during the run of 'Sunset Boulevard'. The very same thing happened in one of our boxes during a show and im telling you the lady needing no microphone! I can still picture Rita Morenos face during this! They were seen by everyone except those in the cheap seats. We managed to get them out but only after 10 mins of the extra scene being played out-they had locked the door!!! Once stopped they simply gathered their things and departed the theatre like nothing had happened- i was almost crying with laughter! The story was on the front page of 50% of the UK press the following day. The box office staff were often asked after this if seats had a clear view of the box more than the stage itself!!!
Too bad the spot operator didn't shine a light on them.
They must have gotten eXciTeD with all the junks being shake!?
This is Palace, not a stripper bar !

I had previously noted that LB needed all the help it could get. Well, it certainly got it this time!
Well, I don't know and don't care if the Legally Blonde story is true. But some people just get a thrill out of "doing the sin" as someone jokingly called in the other day in a public or forbidden place.
When I saw Lestat at the Palace, I was sitting in the front row during the previews and the man next to me had spread what looked like a very large napkin on his lap after intermission. During Act II, he was masturbating under the napkin while staring very intently at the stage.
Apparently, he did it more than once because I read a young woman's blog - posted near the end of Lestat's run - and she mentioned that she and her sister sat in the front row next to a man masturbating under a large handkerchief.
Whatever happened to class?
apparently last year some middle aged man was masturbating at spring awakening last year and had to be escorted out.
One evening when I was working at wicked, when megan hilty was still in the show, a man was escorted out during ACT 2 because a lady FINALLY complained that he'd been moaning the entire show... turns out under the cape he was wearing, he was masterbating to megan... totally sick.
The sex story is true, Cats. I wasn't there, but Richy (the lovely man who works the Palace stagedoor and various other things at the hteatre) told a bunch of my friends at stage door that it was true. Pretty reliable source.
And Liverpool, LOL, to the box comment.
In our defense...we didn't think anyone could see us!

That reminds me of when I was in London in December and saw Mamma Mia the first night of the trip. During the huge curtain call mega-encore that goes on, a clearly wasted middle aged man in one of the boxes was leaning over the railing and cheering and screaming and being obnoxious, which was more scary than funny because it looked like he was going to fall off! Then things escalated to a wholeeeee new level. He stood up and started dancing and singing along - mind you, he was VERY audible, and he definitely did not sound good hahah.
...Then he took his shirt off.
And proceeded to wave it around while still dancing for the remainder of the show, which was a good 10 or 15 minutes. We (Everyone I was with) were hysterically laughing and caught a few seconds of his shirt-waving on camera. The video's now up on facebook and I watch it when I need a laugh ahahah.
Sally... I told you not to tell anybody.
I feel no shame.
Remember what we did during Wicked?

Of course I do, Sally... I'll never think of 'Defying Gravity' the same way again.
Wow... What were the reactions of the other audience members?
