Wait, so just to be clear - the PERFORMANCES for the next 2 weeks are still going ahead as scheduled, right? It's just that the press night will be later in the run than they anticipated. That's what it sounds like anyway.
If so, I don't really see that postponement as any great tragedy. The Public already deliberately schedules their press nights to be late in their Delacorte runs, unlike the traditional preview/performance model we see in other productions. Basically, it just means we won't read any reviews until 2 weeks later, which I think is kind of whatever.
Of course, it really sucks that Ming-Trent was injured - that part IS a major bummer, but we knew about this from the reports in the other thread. It's a shame - his performance is really extraordinary. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, as well as a fruitful and successful run for his understudy, who I'm sure is also excellent.
