Best- Twelfth Night (I was in a production of it as Olivia so I'm biased) and Hamlet

Best- Hamlet or Macbeth
Worst- Love's Labour's Lost (which I had the privelege of doing in my school last year- yay for Lady-in-Waiting #1
) and- despite the fact that it has some really good parts (i.e. Prospero's "we are the stuff that dreams are made of" bit), I'm really not a fan of (though I will be auditioning this year)
*tries not to pretend she's not bitter about not doing a tragedy*

no, although I wish i was. I hate both and thing they are ust lame. Romeo And Juliet has always annoyed me because it's 2 teenagers acting like dumbasses for 5 acts. and I think Midsummer has been ruined for my by seeing too many BAD productions.

I think Romeo and Juliet is great! I don't know how to judge this because i'm one of those who think he may not have written the majority of what he is credited for. I really enjoy Romeo and Juliet but Two Noble Kinsmen and Hamlet are far superior.

Oh Zoneface, you depress me! I love R&J, there are so many brilliant scenes and monologues in there.
On the Midsummer note, I love it, but I definitely saw a production set in Athens, GEORGIA. With SOUTHERN ACCENTS.
That was painful.

I guess I'm the only one that is glad when the 2 kill themselves, it's the only thing that gets them to shut up.

Actually the Southern accent is very similar to the British in placement, thus can work well for Shakespeare.

My problem with R&J isnt the writing, its the story. What people seem to forget is the central characters are CHILDREN. Children talking about grandiose ideas as if they truly understand them. and then, after talking about these grandiose things, they KILL THEMSELVES. It's not interesting, or tragic, it's silly, and pathetic.

zone--as late as the 20th century, CHILDREN were getting married and were considered adults. In Shakespeare's day, a 14yo girl would often be old enough for marriage. This is why Lady Capulet is so young herself. Romeo is 17 or 18.
I think you have to think about the time and culture when this was written. I think you have possibly gotten an off off off view of this play.
