Posted: 6/7/09 at 12:18amI can't believe how horrible Faith Prince's version of "Poor Unfortunate Souls" was. Really awful stuff and she wasn't "scary" at all. Wow, that was bad.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 12:20amSherie sang the bejesus out of those songs in TLM, but she was walking through the character. She could sing those songs gloriously in her sleep, and she did. She hated that role by the time I saw her. I was imagining that Faith acts more than Sherie did. Maybe not.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 12:25amI love Sherie, and saw her in The Little Mermaid, but I also saw Cicily Daniels in the role of Ursula... who blew Sherie out of the water.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 12:30amI saw the final preview before opening night and she didn't seem bored at all.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 12:32amExactly, you saw her before opening night...before the show was destroyed by critics, before she despised the kids at the stagedoor, and hated the hours it took her to get into make up and costume. I saw her shortly before she left and she made no bones about it at the stage door how over it she was.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 4:32amWe saw it Feb 08. Her vocals were exquisite, but she did nothing for the part. I blamed: the writing, the costume, the directing and SRS. She was calling it in.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 8:33amI still say that despite her short run Heidi beat Sherie (and by that logic, I would assume Faith) out of the water. When I saw her she just seemed so lively and excited in the role. She was able to take this supporting part and practically steal the show.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 8:48amSherie was the best thing about this nightmare of a show when I saw it. Heidi was dull and didn't have Sherie's pizazz. Faith's performance on The View does not make me the least bit interested in seeing her.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 9:00amIt's all a turd sandwich vs. giant douche argument anyway. They ruined the role by turning it into a generic wicked witch/Cruella Devil archetype with no personality.

Posted: 6/7/09 at 11:21amWhile I have not seen Faith and Heidi live, from what I've seen, Sherie is by far the best. I have also heard that Sherie was sleeping through her performance after opening-mainly on here and from other friends who saw the show, but almost each time I saw the show, she was full energy-all except one (a rainy wendsday evening). I'm also amazed by Sherie's ability to be fabulous while barely trying, and it's great to see her in full energy now in Everyday Raputre.

The fact that Sherie sang those songs so thrillingly while completely disengaged is a testament to her undeniable talent. She is a force of nature..she always thrills when performing a piece she can get behind.
But honestly, as another psoter noted, what actress could get behind TLM. It is probably a very sweet payday from Disney, but that is about it. The musical botched Ursula's character and her costumes. There is very little an actress can bring to that part-it's just a wash in so many ways.

I mostly agree, Bettyboy. If Scott was disengaged the night I saw her, though, she could be giving lessons to other actors on how not to appear disengaged.
She alone made the evening bearable.
Interestingly enough, she SLAMS the other Disney show she was in (Aida) repeatedly in Everyday Rapture ("I had to sing those songs for a WHOLE YEAR!") but never mentions Mermaid.

Sherie is an interesting creature. She is cool because she really likes to work on her own terms and speak her mind. In the same sense, I think most people (including co-stars) either get her or they don't. If you don't, it can be a bumpy ride.
I got her solo album and I never got into the song choices.
