re: Sherie's leaving DRS 1/31

"I'm not kidding.
She's like totally the best singer ever and the most fantasmagorical actress in the history of everything.
I totally cried and screamed when I didnt' win the Wicked Lottery. I like tried 263 times and never won. And I thought "OooohmyGod! Idina must be like taking a bubblebath now and thinking about her green makeup and she has no idea i'm like down here wishing I could see her defy gravity tonight."

I think Idina could play John's part too. They should rename the show "The Idina Menzel Wicked Show."

Are you kidding me?

Whoa like take it easy with the like coffee or whatever it is you were on when you wrote that. Like I'm a fan of Idina too but like imagining Idina in a bubblebath...

Am I the only one who finds this a bit strange?

Okayyyyyyyyy...ignoring the weird Idina mocking sidebar, can anyone verify John's last day?

re: Sherie's leaving DRS 1/31

My votes for replacements

lawrence- Gregory Jbara, Charles Shaughnessy

christie- the current understudy (i think its laurie marie duncan everyone's been raving about but i'm not sure), jennifer laura thompson, idina manzel(its not exactly the first time she and sherie have switched off and the producers do want a "star name" somewhere in the cast)
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

I'm not sure it's been officially confirmed, like reported by bway.com or anything but I can pretty much unofficially confirm that John's last day in DRS is Jan. 8.

re: Sherie's leaving DRS 1/31

Sad news. She was one of my favorite things about DRS. Im crossing some fingers for Julia Murney. Who wouldnt want to hear THAT 'Here I Am'?!?!

Idina would be a great Christine to, IMO. Maybe when the show starts to tank a bit theyll call her in.

So that'll be:
Idina-->Sherie (RENT)
Sherie-->Idina (AIDA)
Sherie-->Idina (DRS)
AND HOW GREAT WOULD IT BE IF...
Idina-->Sherie (WICKED)

re: Sherie's leaving DRS 1/31

When Kristin had announced an exit date last summer I forget who, but someone said Sherie Scott. I laughed. All along I have hoped to see what Sherie could do with Elphie. I would pay a lot of money to hear what she could to with some of those songs.
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

my vote is Laura Marie Duncan... SHE IS BRILLIANT!!!

but Julie Murney would be awesome as well... Jennier Laura Thompson is also a brilliant choice... but if I had to pick just one I'm going with Laura.

Thanks for your response Hank. I thought my questions were going to get forgotten with all the Idina bashing.

alright- ya know how some really stupid things just make you crack up. Well, Princeton- you've done it! Congratulations! That post about Idina....I've been hysterical ever since I read it and then reading some other people's responces to it made me even laugh even harder.

Sorry, I know I am weird...but that just happened to tickle the right spot at the right time.

Edit: Alright- I keep reading this thread over and over again and I am absoluetly in non-stop laughter

re: Sherie's leaving DRS 1/31

Much love to Sherrie but my vote is also Laura Marie Duncan. Her current understudy/ Regina (usherette) she is an amazing talent and personality! Im going in October just to see her! And if she doesnt replace Sherrie she has got to do the tour!

I've heard from someone in the cast that Rachel York has expressed interest in doing the role, however it is more than likely that the current understudy will take over.
