Back when this was NOLA studios, it was notoriously known to be poorly managed. Bathrooms out of order, lack of rehearsal space and over bookings, no heat. It seemed cheap for low budget theaters to have their auditions there. Lots of non-equity open calls there which, when crowded, would pack several floors of actors. I had hoped that with Shetler taking over things would improve, but never experienced things there with the new owners.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Sorry to hear that as well. Not knowing the full story, I hope they did not overreact. I would think (and again I have no idea) that their only significant present expense is rent. In talking to a lot of commercial real estate people on both sides, it seems clear that past and present rent will be VERY negotiable once we come out of this. This is a consideration that is pertinent for everyone who rents space, whether theatres, collateral businesses in the theatre, or any other business that is affected. The last thing landlords want is building after building of terminated leases with few prospects for new tenants. So to anyone reading this who is affected, hang in there and hang tough.

I saw the play "Dead Shot Mary" there and remembering how cool it was. Bathrooms were in working order!

You're not wrong, BUT the one cost I think many are forgetting about was their takeover of NOLA. Which was indeed necessary because NOLA was the LITERAL worst studio in the city, but I imagine that was a hefty cost to them.

So you think that they had borrowed money that they could not repay? That would obviously be something I had not thought about, though there again I hope they would have negotiated with the lender before throwing in the tail. In any event, as I said, I am back seat driving here. I just hope folks are aware they may have alternatives that they would not have in a non-pandemic scenario.
