Hey!
Ok, I have an audition at the end of January for "Cinderella". I really like the monologue "Jealousy; Secrets of an Ugly Stepsister" because it's funny, short, and it relates to the play. The only problem is, I'm worried that too many girls will try with that monologue.
Does anyone have short monologues for a 13 year old girl? I'd prefer comedy, but it doesn't have to relate to Cinderella. Thank you SO much!

There's one from "The Fantasticks" that is great.

Luisa: This morning a bird woke me up. It was a lark, or a peacock; something like that. So I said hello. And it vanished, flew away, the very moment I said hello! It was quite mysterious. So do you know what I did? I went to my mirror and brushed my hair two hundred times, without stopping. And as i was brushing it, my hair turned mauve. No, honestly! Mauve! Then red. then some sort of a deep blue when the sun hit it.... I'm sixteen years old, and ever day something happens to me. i don't know what to make of it. When i get up in the morning and get dressed, I can tell...something's different. I like to touch my eyelids, because they're never quite the same. oh, oh, oh! I hug myself till my arms turn blue, then I close my eyes and cry and cry till the tears come down and I can taste them. I love to taste my tears. I am special. I am special! Please god, please, don't let me be normal!

Be original. Try and write something yourself and see how it works. (I hope this doesn't come off rude...)
I have to disagree....original material is not often a good idea for an audition. There are exceptions, of course, but I wouldn't generally recommend it.

Thanks for you're help, guys. (Blair - I love that website with all the movie monologues...I use it frequently.) I've checked around and it doesn't seem like anyone else is doing the "Jealous" monologue (so far) so I think I'm going to stick with that. Thanks again, though!

There's a great one called Saint Joan told by Joan of Arc at one of her hearings. It's great!
