I'm not one to start a "let's suggest a performer for a wicked role" thread, but I was thinking (there's a first time for everything), couldn't Shoshana Bean play Glinda? We all know that she can DEFINATELY hit the high notes, and she's a versatile actress, so does anyone think it would be interesting to see a role switch?
I'm surprised at you Ebonic, I'm disappointed! NO no no no no n on on o!

someone asked her about that in her Q&A a while ago, she said shed love to try it for a day.
I don't understand why people freaked out at me when I had the thought of what if JLT played Elphaba. Shoshana as Glinda is a bigger stretch. I can't imagine what she'd look like with blonde hair. But she'd be really great in the role, I think.
Odd as it sounds, it might work.

Yeah, Shoshana has said on her now-defunct Q&A that she would love to play Glinda, and that she can easily sing Glinda's part.
Apparently, Shoshana has an amazing soprano as well as an incredible belt.
she actually does have a lovely mezzo voice as well. I think she'd be able to do it.

She does. She can basically hit any note in chest, head, or mix. It's rather amazing.

Her range is spectacular--the Godspell soundtrack, for example.
ARS NOVA- amazing!
Yeah, I think switiching would be interesting, but Sho could do it!

OMG that would be so totally awesome if she did that for like a special performance oh I'd love to see that!
i agree..ars nova is a clear example.
I think she could do it. That would be funny if say on halloween or on some special day they switched up the characters.
Shoshana could DEFINITELY pull it off. She was wonderful as Christine in Phantom of the Opera, she blew us all away. Hads down, she's got the voice, and the personality. Her "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" Was breathtaking! She belted that in soprano vibrato I've never heard, total amazment.
I didn't know she was in "Phantom of the Opera." I'd like to see that with her in it. Also, if there are any Linda Eder fans here, she has a DVD of a holiday concert with the Broadway choir. If you look, all the way to the left (stage right) is Shoshana, a very loud soprano. It's fun to watch.

I don't think that Shoshana has ever been in Phantom. It's not one of her Broadway credits, and I doubt that if she was in the national tour she would leave that out of her bio and have Leader of the Pack on there instead.

bijive, maybe it was some community theater she performed at?
BSo- why? because Shosh would be a good glinda or that she was Christine??
Ok. Bye!
That was mean, I apologize. I just don't like it when people complain about postings for no reason.
woah, I dont know why I said community college, i meant commiunoity theater, ill be editing that
wait, what was that bijive? lol sorry im lost now
Haha. That was in response to bsob's comment about suicide.
It couldn't have been in community theatre. Phantom isn't licensable to amateur groups. It's not even available for professional regional productions. I just think that was a BS comment. Maybe it was some other Jewish girl with a fun name.
Nope, it was her alright, about 3 years ago when I saw it in Cincinnati. She was a swing and was filling in for the current christine at the time. When i found out she made wicked i was blown away, i'll have to definilty see her now. I didn't think she could have that powerful of a chest voice, but whoa she can sing high.
That's interesting. I still don't really believe it, because why wouldn't she include it in her resume or bio? I'll have to check on that. If she was in it, though, that's crazy range. Go Shoshana!
