She receives a lot of crap from this board because of the show she's currently in. I too believe she is a stunning vocalist. True, her acting isn't exactly Redgrave-esque, but her voice more than makes up for it.
EDIT: Speaking of stunning: Has anyone else ever heard her rendition of the Whitney Houston song "How Will I Know?" It's available on Limewire.

tthe only proble i have is the bizzare/extreme faces she makes when she sings. they are really quite distracting at times. But i do love her in wicked.

I love Shoshana's facial expressions when she sings. I find them very expressive.
i completely agree
i honestly believe that shoshana's voice is truly remarkable. an unbelievable talent. it is without question, even for those of you reading this who hate her scats and riffs that she has brilliant pitch and intonation, not to mention all her cool vocal acrobatics.
it's perfect for stephen's rock/pop/contemporary score
i personally believe she is breath taking and will be a wonderful addition to many more contemporary shows to come.
i'd love to hear her sing 'home' from the wiz - she'd be perfect
PERFECT
I meant..."Home" from...Scott..Alan..never mind.
it is completely conincedental that i wrote about shoshana singing 'home'. it had nothing to do with your message
get over yourself
jk
I like the way she canges up the notes in songs to make them more her own. Plus, she's just adorable. I want a friggin pimp doll so bad.
Shoshana singing BLESS THE LORD in the Godspell Revival cd... amazing... Robert
i can't recall a thing i've heard her sing, nor a performance i've seen her in where i haven't been completely impressed by her.

Is she the girl who originally understudied Idina? I must have seen her then in October. I won the lottery, was utterly excited to see Idina, but she was off. I hated that, but once this girl sang The Wizard....I was completely blown away. But still a teeny weeny disappointed not having seen the "tony award winning performance" though. But she was marvellous.
yup, same girl.
you should try to catch her again before she leaves wicked early january. she's gotten much, much better since going on in october.

I remember people around me telling that this was her first ever as Alphapha. Is that possible? She looked somewhat frightenend at certain times. But sang like an angel (a very loud angel....)

I think she's amazing as well. Her voice is like an instrument, it's flawless. She exudes so much power and emotion.
I love it. Her acting has gotten SO much better since the beginning. You really feel the struggle Elphaba is encountering.

Not only is she an amazing singer, she's a really great person, as well. I gave her a card recently and she e-mailed me thanking me a thousand times. For only a card.
She really has a heart of gold.
I'm very excited, I'm going to see her for the first time this Wed. I've heard some stuff, and I enjoy it, so I'm hoping the live experience is even better.

Aigoo, I LOVE her version of Home by Scott Alan. its so touching and it just fits her voice perfectly.
When I first listened to her Wicked things, I thought, "Eh...I could see how she got the role. I mean, she's not BAD."
Then I listened to Home. WOW. And I relistened to the Wicked stuff. WOW.
But one thing that always bothered me is that she says "Wes-tuhn" instead of "Western". Does she still do that?

i thinks he has done well with the material.. she's made it het suit her own individual sound! I still prefer Idina and i wont apologise for that... but the girl has been blessed witha very powerful and emotive voice!
