Hey you guys. I didn't see anything about this posted on this boards (although it's very possible that I didn't look hard enough).
Shoshana Bean's new single has been released on iTunes! The single is called 'Superhero' and I personally think it sounds amazing. I am a huge supporter of Shoshana but I have to say I was worried about her getting her music to a main stream audience, but I think this single is just the one to do it. I am very much looking forward to the album!
You guys can go to the link below to hear the single. Let me know what you think!

Wow, she really is trying to get away from the sound that most Broadway performers have when they release solo CDs. Good for her--sounds good and I could see this, realistically, being played on the radio. Thanks for sharing.
Fun song.
What do you guys like/dislike about it?
I LOVE it! I cannot wait for her CD. It has been a LONG time coming.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I can't wait for her album!
It's underwhelming to me but I'm still interested to hear the rest of the CD.
As for specifics (I listened to it like 2 hours ago a couple times over and over just to decide how I felt)...umm I didn't like the rhythm in part of the chorus, and even though I listened to it more than once I don't really remember anything about it except that it was "meh."
But like I said I'm still interested to hear the rest of her album.

I'm amazed she went four minutes without any of that excessive melisma that immediately comes to mind whenever she's mentioned.
I like it. Doesn't Christina Aguilera have a similar superhero-related song out? I know her VMA performance was superhero oriented.
Christina's lyrics are something like 'Some days I'm a super bitch' amongst pop-electro comic book inspired music.
Shoshana's song is about wanting a man to take care of her, and her sound is like soul/r&b.
I'd love Shoshana to be a huge success, I really really do, but realistically she probably wont even reach a blip on the radar.
Such a shame because her voice is far superior to the majority of the charts.
that song is sick.
i like it a lot.
It's not my type of music but I actually like it a lot! I've always loved her voice, and she just sounds great!
They should have tried to get that over the end credits of one of the blockbuster superhero movies. Not bad.
I actually didn't like Shoshana in Wicked, at all. Her riffing bothered me, but I knew her voice would be good for R&B. However, her solo stuff is bad ass. I actually, really like it. I'm also glad she is re-recording Press On and releasing it on her CD, I too, hope Sho is a huge success.
I was wondering, the record company listed on iTunes that released her single was Shotime Records--did she start her own company? Or what's the deal with that, I've never heard of it, and I Google'd it and didn't find anything.
I believe she did start her own label. I know she was supposed to work with Brian McKnight's label, but it did not work.
