So, I'm coming for my Fall trip November 15th to the 19th, and have 5 shows locked in.  The show I have set for Thursday night is M. Butterfly, which I was initially excited for, but after reading reactions to here, I'm a bit more cautious.

I'm tempted to switch my show that night to see Torch Song, as there are still tickets available.  Has anyone seen both shows, and could give your thoughts?  I understand that these are drastically different shows.  I'm just debating if I should stick with what I have, or if I should look for a better bet.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I bought a ticket to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory months before it opened.  Then, once the show started its previews, the chat board faithful rightfully chewed up the show. But I still attended, mostly because I am too cheap to eat a purchase.

There are a few bright spots in Charlie, just as there are in M Butterfly.

Charlie has the amazing concession stands stocked with colorful candies.  M Butterfly has a collection of sliding panels you will either love or hate.

M Butterfly is still a wonderfully written play. Even though the staging is visually distracting, I think it's still worth seeing.

Skip Charlie. Go with Torch Song instead, it's wonderful.
