SpongeBob Musical on Royal Caribbean

Oct 3, 2026 — 9:47:26 AM

Royal Caribbean announced yesterday that their newest ship that's launching next year, Hero of the Seas, is going to have The SpongeBob Musical as their live Broadway show. The announcement has gotten a mixed reaction on social media, with some finding it a perfect fit and others saying it belongs on a Disney Cruise. (Obviously not realizing that SpongeBob is not a Disney property...) I think it's a great idea, personally. I saw the show in Chicago before it came to Broadway and, despite havi...

Chess in February question (Understudies)

Nov 28, 2025 — 9:20:10 PM

I'm going to be in NY February 21 to the 25, and am looking at tickets for Chess while I am there. During a few of the dates I am looking at, it says Lea Michele will not be performing. On one of the other dates, it says that Aaron Tveit will not be performing. For those who have seen it, who would be the safer bet to miss and go with the understudy?

Choosing a show for an upcoming NY visit

Nov 9, 2025 — 9:21:38 AM

I'm planning to fly out to NY in February, mainly to meet with my screenwriting manager, for a four day period from the 17th to the 20th. Normally, me visiting NY would be built around seeing as much theater as humanly possible, but given that cash is a bit tight at the moment and it's a business oriented trip, I am limiting myself to one. I'm trying to choose between the following shows. Each have their own Pros and Cons for me, so I would like the help of the good people here in deciding th...

New Hotel for April Theater Trip

Mar 12, 2025 — 5:40:59 PM

My fiancee and I are only five weeks away from our next NY theater weekend (April 17th to the 20th), and as a regular visitor since 2002, I am looking forward to returning to my favorite city to experience great shows, indulge in excellent food, and meet up with wonderful friends. We usually stay at The Michelangelo on W 51st (directly behind the Winter Garden and Ellen's Stardust), but when I tried to book, they only had suites available that were more than I wanted to spend. I'm assuming si...

One more slot available for upcoming April theater trip

Jan 25, 2025 — 8:38:57 AM

Well, for those of you who were curious, I did decide on my final show slot, and it is Maybe Happy Ending. It was an extremely hard decision, and I honestly miss the days when I had the time and money to see 7 or 8 shows during my Broadway theater trips. In the end, MHE won out due to what I heard from the score, and the video clips I saw. I'm sure I am missing out on some great shows, and hopefully some will tour around Chicago and Madison, WI. close to where I live. Thanks to those of you w...

One more slot available for upcoming April theater trip

Jan 4, 2025 — 8:28:51 AM

" Not on your list but perhaps should be - Death Becomes Her :) " Saw it in Chicago last summer. (I live in Wisconsin.) Right now, the ones I'm leaning the most to are Maybe Happy Ending, Dorian Gray and Dead Outlaw. I appreciate the comments so far, and hope I can hear more. And to answer SingingEachtoEach, I understand that my list is quite varied. I try to see a mix of shows when I can. The ones I have tickets to already were the ones I prioritized. Just having a hard time narrowing down t...

One more slot available for upcoming April theater trip

Jan 2, 2025 — 4:37:09 PM

My fiancee and I are visiting April 17th to the 20th for a short trip. I currently have these shows locked in. Thursday, April 17 - GypsyFriday the 18th - Hugh Jackman at Radio City Music HallSaturday the 19th (Evening) - Old Friends I would like some advice and suggestions on what I can fill the Saturday afternoon slot with. I have a few shows that I am interested in, so if anyone has seen or has had thoughts on these shows, it would be appreciated. I also feel I should say that I'm not a fa...

Hotel recommendation for future trip

Nov 21, 2024 — 2:45:04 PM

My fiancee and I are going to be visiting NY in order to see the Hugh Jackman concert at Radio City, as well as Old Friends. I will probably see a couple more shows on my own, but that's what we have locked in. We are visiting Thursday April 17 to Sunday the 20th. My usual go-to hotel for theater trips has been the Michelangelo on West 51st and 7th (behind the Winter Garden theater), but they are already booked for that weekend, except for their most expensive suites. I am assuming it's becau...

Bernadette Peters & Lea Salonga to Lead OLD FRIENDS On Broadway

Oct 23, 2024 — 1:50:56 PM

Does anyone know when tickets for this go on sale to the public? I keep looking, but I see no info. I'm hoping to get two tickets for this in April when we go to see Hugh Jackman at Radio City. My fiancee is originally from the Philippines, and one of her dreams has been to see Lea Salonga perform live. She is jealous of me that I have seen her 4 times over the years, starting with seeing her in the West End Miss Saigon back in 1990 when I was 12-years-old. (And yes, I probably was too young ...

Tony Awards 1990

Oct 17, 2024 — 7:10:26 PM

I'm going on a short theater trip in less than two weeks. (I'm seeing Tammy Faye, Oh Mary!, Once Upon a Mattress and Sunset Boulevard while I am there.) One of my traditions is that during the two weeks leading up to a theater trip, I listen to Tony Award broadcasts, musicals and movies about NY while I work just to help me get in the mood. I was listening to the 1990 Tony Awards this morning, and I honestly have to wonder why haven't the two big musicals of that season (Grand Hotel and City ...

Hugh Jackman to hold 12-performance concert series at Radio City Music Hall

Oct 15, 2024 — 8:22:33 PM

Got tickets for my fiancee and I for Friday, April 18. We had seen him in The Music Man, but didn't get a chance to see one of his concerts, so this will be a great experience.Seats were going fast. Whenever I would click on a pair of seats, they would disappear, but finally got a pair in the fourth row aisle in the first mezzanine.

Theater Trip October 29th to November 1st

Sep 8, 2024 — 10:34:24 AM

Happy to announce I have finalized my plans for my upcoming theater trip. This will be my first time back to NY since March of last year. Used to do these private trips fairly regularly - twice a year from between 2005 to 2019, so it will be wonderful to get a chance to see some shows and stay at my "home in NY", The Michelangelo Hotel, directly behind the Winter Garden. I used to do these trips alone, but on this one, I will be joined on this trip by my beautiful fiancee and my mother, who h...

Death Becomes Her and restaurant question

Apr 30, 2024 — 6:05:07 AM

Death Becomes Her begins its performances for its pre-Broadway tryout in Chicago tonight. Is anyone going or planning to make the trip to see it? I have a ticket for the matinee on June 1st, and really hope this ends up being at least decent. The last two tryout musicals I saw in Chicago (Paradise Square and The Devil Wears Prada) weren't exactly the best. Regardless, I always enjoy making the trip to Chicago when I can't make it to NY. Also, I'm planning to grab dinner near the Cadillac Pala...

March Trip-Restaurant Recommendations

Jan 9, 2023 — 8:31:14 AM

I will be in NY March 9th to the 12th, and will be at the same performances as you for Camelot and Kimberly Akimbo. (I'm seeing Sweeney Thursday night.)As for bar seating close to Wicked, I second Joe Allen's. I haven't been there for a while, but plan to go back this trip. I don't know if it's still the same way, but back when I went there regularly, you had to wait until a week before to make a reservation (which are highly recommended there).

One slot left open for March Theater Weekend. Help me decide!

Nov 13, 2022 — 1:51:13 PM

I want to thank those who responded. I decided to go with Kimberly Akimbo for my Saturday afternoon slot. The deciding factor was the fact that & Juliet will likely tour, and I can see it when it eventually comes to Chicago or Madison, close to where I live. Got a second row center Orchestra aisle seat. Thanks again, and so happy to be going back to NY in 16 weeks!

One slot left open for March Theater Weekend. Help me decide!

Nov 12, 2022 — 1:46:24 PM

So, my upcoming NY weekend March 9th to the 12th is almost filled. Here's what I currently have locked in... Thursday, March 9th - Sweeney ToddFriday, March 10th - CamelotSaturday, March 11th (Evening) - Some Like it Hot So, I have one slot left open for Saturday afternoon on the 11th, and am trying to decide between Kimberly Akimbo and & Juliet. I'm leaning a bit more toward Kimberly, but I would appreciate the opinion of anyone who has seen both shows, and which they would pick.I also am co...

Phillipa Soo, Andrew Burnap & Jordan Donica to Star in LCT’s CAMELOT, Spring 2023

Nov 12, 2022 — 1:38:33 PM

Harriet Craig said: "Keiichi2 said: "Does anyone know what time on Sunday tickets go on sale to the public? Telecharge and the show's website don't say, and wondering how I can find out."Tickets appear to be on sale to the public now, on Telecharge’s website. LCT’s website still says tickets go on sale to non-members on November 13, but if you bypass LCT’s website and go directly to Telecharge, it looks like anyone can buy a ticket. I can’t guarantee that, because I already have a member tick...
