Not really. I wasn't going to have lunch today at all but it's free! And I hear it's good- the reviews have been mixed to good. And since I've tasted all the other McDonald's sandwiches (except for the Hula Burger which was pulled in 2 weeks) I think I should at least try it. But I'd need to drive over. It's not TOO far a trip, but far. I could listen to the radio though. But what station? I usually listen to the Air America Affiliate, but since Ron Reagan is filling in this week- ugh, you know? NPR is always good I guess. Or the 70's station. It's sort of cloudy and traffic is bad.
What if these Chicken Sandwiches win the TONY next week? (Tasty Original New Yummies) I'll be KICKING myself that I didn't have one BEFORE the awards! Better yet, what if they CANCEL the new Southern Chicken Sandwich before I get one? I'll never know how awful it was! Oh, I CAN NOT MAKE UP MY MIND!!!!!

to answer your question...
it all depends. how will you feel when you're contemplating suicide in your seat?
I say NO.
On the other hand, I'd see it again, if my theater-buddy was as great looking as NYCboy2 LOL
Too late! GMF~my friend!
I am seeing the show with him and Crazy4mattmorrison... Yes! I have TWO theater buddies just to see CRY-BABY. I guess.. they wanted me to be on their "side"
YES! I am a convert now! I love CRY-BABY! Hallelujah! Praise Spenser LIff's abs!

Should you see Cry Baby?
Yes.
If you are interested in musicals you cannot only see the great-fab-brill-terrific-or-even-just-good-ones. Playwright-Director Moss Hart said, "No one learns anything from a hit." In order to sense what might work, you have to see your fair share of what doesn't work and then you have to figure out why it didn't work.
After you see Cry Baby (and it is on TDF) discuss with your friends what you liked and why, and then what you didn't like and why.
And believe me, everyone's taste is different. I'd rather see Cry Baby ten more times then even think about last season's production of Company that a lot of people loved, and it won a Tony.
At least, you'll be able to look at Spencer's abs AND NYCboy2, so your evening won't be totally wasted

Less we forget, "Misery, Agony, Helplessness, Hopelessness, Heartache and Woe"; "I'm Infected"; "Screw Loose"; "Girl, Can I Kiss You With Tongue"; "A Little Upset" and many more!!
Less we also forget.... Ms. Harriet Harris?????
what about Harriet Harris.
love the woman in everything EXCEPT this. thought she just didn't fit the part. the show, as a whole, is very miscast.
Alli and Christopher, however, is NOT miscast.

I think it's worth seeing, but I seem to be one of the few who enjoyed it. It's a terrible show, but in a way that's entertaining. The choreography's fantastic, and Alli Mauzey, Chester Gregory, and Christopher Hanke are excellent. And Spencer Liff's quite nice to look at. :)

I love the songs you listed, but Harriet Harris? No. I didn't like her at all. Her voice both in this AND in Millie wasn't kind on my ears.

Yep, go see the show...(but but get cheap tickets)....the choreography is great, and I LOVED Alli Mauzey (sp?) as Lenora. The rest was a tad bit "blah" for me....but I'm glad I saw it. Of course, we will be waiting for your 10/10 report.
Just be sure to see In The Heights AFTER Cry-Baby ! That way, any bad memories you may have from CB will be washed away by the incredible, fantastic, glorious ITH !

No.
It's not painfully bad but it sure ain't amazingly good. It's so dismissible that the only thing you'll likely remember about the experience is the fact that you spent X amount of dollars on a ticket.
Yes. I look forward to your review of the show and the men. And I think you'll appreciate more than the choreography. The music may be average but the lyrics are fun.
Have a great time!
It is a fun show.
really? I must have missed that part, when I saw it.
Young Frankenstein was waaaay more fun, but.....
I completely agree.
YF was tons more fun than CRY-BABY.
Enjoyed both shows.
A slightly bit off-topic, but I thought this might be interesting to the people reading the thread. In the "Approval Matrix" of the May 12th edition of "New York" magazine, Spencer Liff's abs are mentioned and depicted in the extreme corner of lowbrow and brilliant. Caption reads- "Cry-Baby chorus member Spencer Liff- the hottest abs on Broadway!"
