She could be the character that can't really sing since apparently so many people hate her. She can't be that bad.

We're all just insanely ealous that she's so pretty, talented, and successful.

This thread actually seems mostly supportive of her.
And what's the connection between her playing a character who can't sing (?) and people not liking her personality? One has nothing to do with the other.

Why can't people accept that someone they like can be "that bad"? I think Faye Dunaway gives one of the great acting performances in NETWORK but I don't go around defending her when people call her out on her rotten behavior.
I think the idea of her as Mabel Normand is nothing short of laughable and clearly supported by people who have little idea of what the role entails, not to mention the fact that nothing about Michele's look or acting style suggests she could convingcingly play a silent film star.

Lea was last on Broadway close to 8 years ago. She probably snapped at some assistant for spilling her coffee and the bitter employee has been bitching ever since.

Yeah, that's how you get a reputation that persists for years! You snap at one assistant, one time!
You don't have to treat people poorly for years or anything! Just one bitchy comment, on one occasion, to someone with no connections is all it takes.

I bet it kills Leah Michelphaba to know that "Love Myself" has gotten more radio play (and is far catchier) than that unspeakable "Cannonball" single she put out a few years ago.

Halle had a major Coke problem per some sources which attributed to her stalking Lea.

"per some sources"
Well that sounds legitimate.

It's weird. I loved her voice throughout the run of Glee but I can't think of one either. I think maybe it's because of the shift to a more pop sound? The later performances I remember liking were songs like "My Man" or one of those Celine covers. But I can't think of a show, let alone a character that would fit. Something like Sheila Franklin in Hair would be too small of a part for her.

My point was that Halle never stalked Lea. I don't know where that came from.
She also never had a coke problem.
That entire post is just made up.

Why do you guys assume that Lea is a bitch diva??? How have any of her behaviors led to that assumption?

You claim to be 18. Surely you can remember what it was like to be 14.

I am 18, and I do remember what it was like, naturally. She shouldn't have mentioned it to the press. No doubt the press twisted it, and you can't hear the tone of how she said it, but it shouldn't have been said regardless. It put Lea in an awkward position, and it eventually created a cocaine rumor (?) about stalking Lea (??) and in the end it affected Hailee as well.
It just makes me sad to see how much of a bad reputation Lea has, because it stems mostly from Rachel Berry, and her "Spring Awakening" stagedoor days. Most of the 'drama' around her attitude is because some days she didn't feel like stagedooring at the show. She was very young and carrying a Broadway show, and some miffed fans decided to twist that as if she was a forty year old woman who refused to sign and laughed about it.

When did Lea "carry" a Broadway show? It certainly wasn't Spring Awakening. And Lea as Mabel is about as ludicrous as the role of Fanny "belonging" to Annaleigh. At any rate, right now, the role of Fanny "belongs" to Sheridan Smith. Hopefully, it will transfer to Broadway as La Cage did with Douglas Hodge. Speaking of Douglas Hodge, wouldn't he be just GENIUS as Laurey in Oklahoma! Or PERFECT as Bess in Porgy and Bess!
I never put much stock in the Lea diva rumors for the reason that I just didn't care much. I thought she was fine in Spring Awakening (nothing revelatory). She was sort of cute on Glee for the season and a half I could tolerate the show. Idina had the same rumors during Wicked and it sounded mostly like bitter tween girls trying to sound cool, but I've always loved seeing her perform since probably before the tweenz were born. Not sure why it would matter to me at all. Now, I did see Dunaway deliver a wooden and dull performance of Master Class after holding the curtain almost 90 minutes (which she notoriously did for the first performance of each stop on the tour) and I disliked her for not only being a diva, but ruining a good play.
