I really was starting to get more interested in seeing Millie... too bad the tour was here almost a year ago and i missed it.
Yeah, almost forgot about the Big River revival. That was one production I would have killed to see. (I didn't hear about it until it was closed.)

Gypsy ... (what an F'in shame it closed - I mean come on its 'Bernadette' !)
Millie could have run longer ...
Many of you put Assassins, which I saw & liked, but it was never meant for a long run - it was always scheduled for a limited run - they just extended it a bit due to the Tony wins

THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, ok, I'm a big fan and I've posted lots of stuff about Millie before so, here are my other choices:
NEVER GONNA DANCE, ok again, Noah Racey, a Millie alum, gotta give him a plug, but I liked it a lot, too.
Also, SIDESHOW, and URINETOWN.
.
Millie
Les Miz
La Boheme
Dance of the Vampires =-D
Don't know if any one answered you, URINETOWN got "evicted" from their theatre (being torn down) and instead of forking out the money to move, they closed instead.
Aspects of Love??? Ran WAY too long as it was. Horrible show.
The Normal Heart
The Last Five Years
Urinetown
And did Once on this Island have a long run? I only got to see it once but I loved it so much and was so upset when it closed!
Urinetown (!!!!!)
Assassins
Jane Eyre
Taboo
The Last 5 Years
By Jeeves (wouldnt have built an audience but I liked it)

I think Once on this Island ran for about a year. I may be wrong.
Luckily Big River is going on tour. I want to see it but I dont think its coming to the NYC area.

SIDESHOW!!!!
the wild party!!
Why were the theatre-owners in such a rush to tear down Urinetown's theatre?

Rags
Definitely deserved to run longer than 4 perfomances.
I'm sad that it's the 3rd page and I'm the first to mention it.
I don't know anything about Rags so I can't really comment on that.
I would like to add though that I think the recent revival of Follies should have lasted longer, as should have Noises Off although I don't know how good the replacement cast was for that show.
Hey, Urinetown ran 965 performances and 25 previews on Broadway. If you factor in three months it played Off-Broadway, that's over 1000 performances and more than two and a half years in New York, which is pretty damn good, especially for a show with a famously unappealing title.
BlueWizard asked about the theatre owners - a new Bank of America building has been planned for the plot of land east of Henry Miller's Theatre for years now and Urinetown was always living on borrowed time in that theatre. The good news is that the owners of the theatre are moving the facade down the street (where the Dallas BBQ building is now), and building a new Henry Miller's Theatre behind it that will look like a newfangled version of the old one. So, Broadway will get a new theatre, opening around 2008.

Rags definitely deserved more than it got. It's got great music, and the book is not that bad. (I was in a production of it this past February.)
I also say Side Show and Triumph Of Love.
Taboo (in London & Broadway)
Witches of Eastwick
Martin Guerre
Our House (it won the Olivier Award!!)
Ragtime - was the closing a result of poor ticket sales or Livent's fraud troubles?
As I've said time and again, Fascinating Rhythm should have had a far more decent run. If only for the talent on the stage and the material they were singing. Gershwin is great to hear, no matter what. And in the case of this show, I feel the talent did it justice. Side Show should have run longer as well.
How about shows that ran longer than they should have. My vote goes to Footloose.
