re: Showtunes to drive to.

The Boy From Oz is hardly my favorite show but its perfect for the car. Its so peppy and a lot is up-tempo, and in general its just fun.

Listen to "She Loves to Hear the Music" and especially "Bi-Coastal" while driving on the freeway and you're set.

And of course Piazza, just cause i love it. Oh, and Into the Woods. Ok, I'm done.

I love driving (and car-singing along) to Last 5 Years. And, like a couple of people already mentioned, tick, tick... BOOM!
Call the understudy / I can't go on tonight / I'm drinking with my buddy / I'm getting good and tight / Before they raise the curtain I'll be higher than a kite / So call the understudy I can't go on tonight

I have the iPod cassette adapter so most of the time when listening to the CDs through that it's on shuffle. But Dreamgirls is always fun, Wicked, and especially Rent.

My top pics have to be Jersey Boys, Wedding Singer, A Chorus Line and Rent. They are by far the best that I enjoy.

re: Showtunes to drive to.

I listen to any showtunes while I'm driving. Let's see, I've mostly been listening to Patti LuPone's new cd, dreamgirls OBC, Spring Awakening and Liza with a z. Spring Awakening is defenatly amazing to listen to in the car especially Bitch of Living and Totally F*CKed.

re: Showtunes to drive to.

When I'm driving to school, I normally put on a longer show, and just sing the entire way. The past few times I've driven, I've played Rent, Les Miserables, Dreamgirls (movie), and Bare.
My favorite songs, like everyone else have said, are the upbeat ones and ones you can sing too.
I just recently got into Spring Awakening, and I can not wait to be blasting Totally F*cked. lol :)

One song I can't listen/have to skip: Today for You from Rent. I got into my first accident while that song was blasting, and whenever it comes on while I'm in the car, I need to skip it.

I love listening to Jersey Boys, but sometimes I get into it too much and don't pay attention to the road.

re: Showtunes to drive to.

I'm a car-belter, so Dreamgirls is always good. Jersey Boys isn't necessarily one of my favorite shows, but it's pretty fun for the car.

It seems that jukebox musicals are considered to be good for the car for some reason.

One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

It was awesome.

re: Showtunes to drive to.

right now, its Spring Awakening and Dreamgirls, for sure re: Showtunes to drive to. NOTHIN' better than blasting Totally F*cked and head banging to it! *g*

but I also highly enjoy RENT and Wedding Singer for driving!
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
