re: Shrek Extending?

The article also talks about how great Shrek's discounts are for the month of September.

BWW generally reruns the same articles whenever the date of something previously announced arrives.

Ah, thank you for explaining that.

re: Shrek Extending?

The article opens with this:

"DreamWorks Theatricals & Neal Street Productions have announced that a new block of tickets are now available for SHREK THE MUSICAL. The award-winning hit new Broadway musical is now on sale through January 3, 2010, when it takes its final bow on Broadway and prepares for its national tour in July."

How do you derive an extension out of that?

re: Shrek Extending?

When the article was first re-posted yesterday, it had the original date through March, I believe.

The article originally said tickets were on sale through May 30, 2010. It was a re-post of an article that was written back in August. I e-mailed them to correct it and they fixed it.

re: Shrek Extending?

With three shows closing on January 3 (Shrek, Marvelous Wonderettes, and Toxic Avenger) could the first Sunday of 2010 be a repeat of the first Sunday of 2009? While January is a big time for shows to close this past January 4 was a massacre. Any guesses as to who might be next to fall.

re: Shrek Extending?

I learned not to mention even the possibility ofNext to Normal or In the Heights closing...

Que the standard comments on their low running costs...

With as seriously as some people take this business we call theatre-going, around here at least, I imagine the board would implode should Normal and Heights close in January.
