Word is she's Christine in the PHANTOM Sequel... As it so happens, she's in London right now with Sir ALW doing the first reading of the show...

I thought Christine was going to be older in the sequel. I mean, Sierra's in her twenties and Christine was like sixteen or something, but that's still not that much older.
Mind you, who knows WHAT is going on with Phantom 2 these days? Plus, if they do release a concept recording and only decide whether or not to stage it after the event, then Christine could be any age on the recording.
Anyway. ^_^

Hmmmm Yet i still don't care about this show.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 7:59amY'know, it's kind of sad - when Disney actually looks better than the alternative, you know you're getting into some pretty horrendous territory. But really? To go from Mermaid to Phantom2, especially given what limited amount we know about this treasure of a show, just seems absurd.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 10:12amI believe the concept recording and all that stuff is what their in the stages of creating right now.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 10:25amwouldn't they want a "name" for the concept recording or was that just Aida with Tina Turner and the Spice girls, etc....

I posted my opinon on this before but I think it's a smart move to release it as a concept recording before making a stage production of the show. It will force them to work on story as oppose to spectacle (which is what ALW is often accused of). His earlier works Evita and JCSuperstar benefited from the concept recording. If it is good story then Sierra made a good move. I'm very curious how this show will turn out. It will either be a gem or a trash heap.

Posted: 10/23/08 at 12:39pmAs much as I don't think a sequel of this story will work (and I really hope I'm proved wrong, but probably won't be), if ALW wanted to fly me over to be in this I would say yes instantly. Besides, its a gig and it would look good on the resume.

Wow, that's interesting! I wondered what that girl was doing going over to London all the time.
stageishome, where did you hear this?
I cringe whenever Phantom 2 is mentioned which I guess is a bit unfair considering I know nothing about it. In fact, I believe the song "The Heart is Slow to Learn" was written for the sequel and I think it's quite beautiful.

I'm still very troubled by the notion of a Phantom sequal. Seriously, the first should be left alone. I really can't imagine how it will be any good.
That being said, where can i hear a recording of "The Heart is Slow to Learn". I want to hear what ALW has done so far.

I second that! Im a HUGE fan of the show but have no real desire to see this. Leave it where it is.
And are you folks referring to the auction in the beginning when RaoUl is like 80?

No, Wishing is referencing the ending in the 2004 Phantom movie. That flower on the grave scene is not in the original stage show, its just for the sake of the movie.
The stage show ends with Raoul and Christine escaping the Phantom's lair in his boat and the Phantom "disappearing".
