Seeing as Orphans is closing a lot earlier then expected, it will leave The Trip To Bountiful as the only Best Play revival nominee still open come the time of the ceremony, I know a lot of people are rooting for Virginia Woolf, but could this possibly give Bountiful a leg up on the competition?

I don't think Orphans was ever really a factor. I'd say it was always between Virgina Wolf and Bountiful.

I'm not so sure. Woolf generally got better reviews -- like some real raves -- and Bountiful is a limited engagement anyway, so what's to lose? IMO, Bountiful's best bet and hope is Cicely Tyson and I'm not ready to bet my lifetime savings on that, either.
ORPHANS was never a contender. It was a filler.
The award goes to WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?
I see ORPHANS tomorrow, so I can't weigh in on it yet, but it was never a major contender. I was shocked it even got nominated.
The final three nominees (GOLDEN BOY, ...VIRGINIA WOOLF?, and THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL) were three of my favorite productions of the year. So any of them winning would make me happy.
And I think all three of them have a fair shot at this point.
Personally, I would probably vote for GOLDEN BOY.

Oops. The award goes to GOLDEN BOY. Forgot about that one.
Or WOOLF?
Golden Boy wasn't just the best revival of a play, but probably the best production- play, musical, revival- this entire Broadway season.
Virginia Woolf was certainly up there two and might have a slight edge in the eyes of the voters because the title is more recognizable. I'll be bummed if Golden Boy loses, but think Virginia Woolf winning revival and Bartlett winning Best Director would be a happy compromise.

And for the little that it's worth, I am hoping and praying that Letts gets for Best Actor. Will it happen? Don't know. But I've been seeing Woolf since the first in 1962 and Letts was far and away the best George I ever saw -- and I've seen some awfully good ones in my time.
Sorry, but this has to be GOLDEN BOY.
Loved me some Golden Boy. Haven't seen Bountiful yet.

It really comes down to which production had the better show curtain.
Wicked, you don't need to have seen a show to have a very strong opinion of it. Just ask broadway guy.

^^ THIS ^^
and YVONNE STRAHOVSKI was robbed!!!
I think Bountiful is a factor-it's open, voters can come see it and it's been doing pretty well at the box office.
I think Cicely Tyson will win and it has a great shot at best revival.
Golden Boy probably deserves it, but I could see Bountiful picking it up.
I love all the love for GOLDEN BOY, but count me in the VIRGINIA WOOLF camp. Both were transcendant production, I just thought WOOLF was flawless and GOLDEN BOY near-flawless.
Also, to Whizzer's idea of a split, I could see it going the other way - GOLDEN BOY taking Revival and Pam MacKinnon getting her Tony both for WOOLF and a maybe as recognition of CLYBOURNE PARK last year. Sher already won a Tony for SOUTH PACIFIC, so if any voters care at all about that (and some surely won't) that could play a slight factor.

Woolf should get it with a very close second to Golden Boy. Bountiful is not as good as either. But it's up to the Tony voters to decide.
