Patina Miller and cast members of Sister Act were on The View today---introduced by Whoopie. They performed a number ("Fabulous", I think?----didn't see the show yet---but I have tix)

Posted: 5/5/11 at 2:16pmuncageg--I'm glad you said it was "ok". I was not overly impressed with the performance and thought I would be disappointed in the show---but, hopefully, it was not a great representation of the production (and Patina's skills).

By the way it's "Whoopi". Whoopie is possibly a cushion which makes a rude noise but not the famous comedienne

Posted: 5/5/11 at 2:57pmThis is a somewhat strange representation of the show. Patina is singing "Fabulous, Baby!" (which is what it's called, btw), while the women behind her appear to be doing a variation of the song's second-act reprise. Nonetheless, Patina sounds great to me, and I just love this song.

Posted: 5/5/11 at 3:03pmOkay, after having watched it a couple of times, I'm not really sure exactly what the backup dancers are doing. It's sort of a combo of the first and second act versions. But that is not what the number looks like in the first of act the show, though it's what it sounds like.

I thought it was good! It'll sell tickets. The best part is the woman in the audience, watching the performance on the left side of the screen, clapping off-beat. Love it.
