I hope after the official completion of the series, whenever that may be, they make a big, gorgeous technicolor motion picture for the silver screen. I would definitely Kickstarter it!
LOL the highest Kickstarter campaign is like under $11 million dollars. IF you could get the rights to the extra material from this show, that's hardly enough to make a movie-musical.
finebydesign, Veronica Mars raised like $22 million for their movie on Kickstarter.

Not only would I sincerely Kickstarter it, but I would sign a change.org petition. Don't know about the Veronica Mars movie, however, unless guaranteed an Enrico Colantoni full frontal.

I will happily contribute but only if I get a guarantee that Karen dies in the first ten minutes or, better yet, before the movie even starts.
I'll contribute to kickstarter as long as you guarantee me the musicians will get paid.
I'll kick someone in the balls if this cr@p makes it to the big screen...
The Veronica Mars one is up to almost 2.8 million.

But yeah, I think a Smash movie would be difficult. Perhaps a kickstarted to get money to have an off-Broadway run of Bombshell?

Who is going to go see this blockbuster? All the millions of people who didn't tune in for the tv series?

I said it in another thread, I wouldn't be surprised if Zadan and Meron try to get Bombshell to Broadway with Hilty. They've got a score, they need a director (which I could see them asking Zaks or Jerry Mitchell) and all they'll need is a book.
EDIT: Forgot to mention they've got an Emmy winning choreographer already.

Now that is a definite possibility but this idea of someone being insane enough to produce a movie version when the tv show is a gigantic flop and embarrassment to NBC is total fantasy.
Gosh the message board is FILLED with SMASH threads!!
I'd looove a SMASH movie, but It seems even more unlikely than getting a season three.

Hey Mr Spoilsport, tell it to Firefly fans! Oh wait, Serenity flopped too...

Fine MATTROGERS, you're a Jerry and I'm an Angelica.
The movie could be like a prequel. Smash Babies, if you will. Like we could see Ivy's first audition, where she breaks into a rendition of Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express.

I would love Smash Babies! To see baby Eileen (still with the bangs!) throw her bottle at baby Jerry would be heaven!

I would personally Kickstart no fewer than ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
And since, as kickstarter donors, we are de facto producers, we can demand they write it so Baby Becky Ann Baker and Baby Dylan Baker (whatever their characters' names are) could never meet, thus ridding us of Baby Karen.
