I think people are misinterpreting what she said. After Wicked, she is going to focus on her recording career. She never said she would only return to Broadway only if she was going to be in Funny Girl. This was taken out of context. Someone asked what her dream roles on Broadway were, and she responded something like the second there were auditions for Funny Girl, she would go back to Broadway in an instant. She only posted this in her Question and Answer page, which was taken down. I'm sure if Shoshana's recording career doesn't take off, she'll be back on Broadway in anything.

Personally, I'd think she'd be great. She can clearly sing anything, and her acting ability has improved so much.

That would be nice, if her comments were taken out of context. I mean, not that it would be nice for her, but it would be nice to know that she ISN'T snubbing Broadway... somewhat of a relief, actually.

Shoshana as Fanny would just be bad. I love her voice but I think she would be horribly miscast as Fanny. My vote for Fanny goes to Tari Kelly who is playing Audrey in the current equity tour of Little Shop of Horrors.

While I think she's great...I have yet to hear that much versatility in her voice. Lady of the Lake? eh
