Not that good. If you are into all the hype of it, you'll be disappointed, but if you are open minded and are going just to see what it's about, then you should like it. I have a lot of friends that haven't seen many shows and they loved Wicked, so I think you'll definitely enjoy.
"Like someone else said, if you haven't read the novel, the set doesn't make much sense. I understand what they were going for, and it works out, but I don't remember them ever explaining the Time Dragon Clock"
It made since to me now. Now I get annoyed because I always get the question "Why is the set a clock"... I say you'd have to read the book to really get any of that. The book is more mature than the musical. I enjoyed the book! The musical is great to, but the real story was an adult novel.
There'as actually one reference to the clock, right at the beginning, but there's no context for the audience to make the connection, and it seems a bit silly to have the predominant set piece something so tenuously attached to the script.
But hey, that's WICKED all around.
It's too good for Lea Michele to star in it...that's all i know
I applaud Eugene Lee's set for Wicked, and for him trying to give some substance and mystery to the show. Not everything needs to be explained, and the mood that the gears and the dragon set is fantastic.
