Wow, Anthony Warlow! He could actually get me to pay big bucks to see Annie.
I've seen Warlow in the role (twice) and I think, while his voice is always marvellous, he isn't particularly interesting in the role. Although I guess it doesn't really show case his talent/is somewhat thankless. I'm curious to know what you guys will think of him. I guess in the Palace his voice will be the most important thing anyway...
Too bad they couldn't find an American for the part. After all, it is a quintessential American musical.
Well done! After all the time we waited I was starting to have serious doubts that they were going to get this right, but so far so good- the two adult leads that have been announced are terrific talents, and what an achievement- producers have been trying to get Warlow over here for almost 20 years!

Lapine can sometimes be spotty with his casting (Into the Woods revival anyone!?!?!?), but so far so good with this one. Theater folk (including all the fans of course) have been hoping there would be a vehicle for Warlow and thought it might be the Dr. Zhivago thing. Having it be a revival shouldn't diminish his first Broadway show. I think it will set him on the path to do lots of singing appearances around town that should make us all very happy chappies.!
I've been hoping for Michael Berresse as Rooster since the revival was officially announced.
i tried to give you all a hint last week...

Warlow is definitely attracting the attention of long-time theatre fans who were previously on the fence or "meh" about Annie, that's for sure.

Is the first one about Rooster? If not, does that mean Clarke Thorell?
I thought the first one was referring to Warlow, who just played Warbucks in Australia.
Same. He did it over 10 years ago, too.

There is a posting here already about this which shows him in the role which he is presently playing in Melbourne.
