Well if we're going by the comic strip, then they need to cast a blind Annie, beacause she didn't have any eyes.

She had cataracts the poor dear. Orphens weren't allowed to see eye doctor. Just like they weren't allowed to win spelling contests.

I'm not really sure what's considered canon in the Annie-verse, but in the novelization of the movie, it seems that July's parents were barely literate and meant to spell her name "Julie" when they wrote a note leaving her as a baby on the steps of the orphanage.

I have always wanted to see John Goodman in the role. To me, he embodies the gruff teddy bear that (I feel) Daddy Warbucks should be. Just an opinion, and probably not a very likely possibility, but it'd make me see the show.
