I don't know what exactly the filming schedule is like for "Boss" or the dates Annie will run, but I'd imagine there will be a conflict there.

You're all forgetting that Warbucks really has to sing. The role requires a baritone with a good top or maybe a tenor. I'm a legit baritone and had trouble with some of the notes when I played the role.
"Kelsey Grammar ?"
GrammEr. Sorry. I'm a Grammer Nazi.

Rod Gilfrey (from the Met) might be an excellent choice--if he was willing to shave his head!

Speakiong of Gilfrey - he's currently in rehearsal for SWEENEY TODD opposite Karen Ziemba at St. Louis Opera.
Charles Shaughnessy. That's my guess.

Douglas Sills would be an interesting choice. I can't think of a big name other than Garber (who wouldn't do it again, presumably)

Isn't ANNIE name-brand enough? It's such a popular, well-loved show. (I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's definitely charming.) Maybe they should just stick to hiring actors who work mainly in the theater. Danny Burstein as Warbucks has been rolling around in my brain, actually. Wouldn't that be neat? Or Boyd Gaines?
Someone said Stanley Tucci in another thread. That could be interesting.

They should pluck Anthony Warlow from Aussie land and get him to do it!

It would be the first production where Sandy is taller than Daddy Warbucks.
Daddy Warbucks be a comic strip character. Daddy is his first name. Oliver his middle name and Warbucks his last name, no?

Maybe Boyd Gaines?

Boyd Gaines can certainly sing but he doesn't have the range that the role requires. Besides, he's not all that keen on doing musicals. Really.
"Bill Clinton"
FDR's line "Republicans too, Oliver," would prove especially amusing.

I wondered too about Anthony Warlow. He's played the part at least a couple of times. I wonder if he would want to make his Broadway debut in a revival though, or if he'd rather originate something...or if he gives a crap about Broadway anyway.
It is Chris Sieber. He is leaving La Cage tour 6 weeks early.
NPH would be great and sell a lot of tickets.

I second Patrick Stewart, thats on the bullseye casting right there.
Anthony Warlow is playing the role in Melbourne as we speak, and will be in Perth with the show from August. It would be a bit of an anticlimax for his first Broadway role, but it would be wonderful for him to finally be on Broadway.
