1. Remember when that clip of Welcome to the 60's was released a little while back? Well, if you remember, someone pointed out that the black dress that is hanging up in Edna's dressing room appears when Edna enters the dressing room, and then dissapears when Edna is revealed in her new dress. After seeing the movie again last night, I realized that it no longer dissapears! Did they re-shoot this scene?
2. Also during Welcome to the 60's, There is a moment where the Dynamite's sing on the bench. I think it comes where they sing "You should add some color and a fresh new do...." Is it just me, or is the Dynamite on the far left of the bench mouthing the words that the other Dynamite sings before her part starts? (I hope that made sense)
Did anyone else notice these things?
I LOVED the film! I'm going for a third time tomorrow!

I'll have to be on the lookout for those. I'm prone to seeing more continuity problems in films that I feel strongly about. As a costumer, it's usually centered around the costumes...but also the fact that there is more movement in a film musical...and continuity can be a b!tch.
I adored the costumes in this movie...and the only thing that irked me were the type of sequins they used on Tracy's YCSTB dress (which is actually a mod fashion...which is late 60's). They're hologram sequins...which didn't appear on the fashion scene until the 1990's. No big deal, though...just something I noticed.
yes thats the bench- that is a place holder design for wide shots - or what have you.
-Thats not what it looks like in the movie. Their faces fill more of the poster out.
and as far as "Barbra" dress goes. It seems to me taht they went in and digitally added it.
Also, Marc Shaiman has (it seems) repeatedly explained the purpose for Tracy's 'mod-like' ensemble at the end of the film.
I'm not going to elaborate on it as most already know why she's wearing that and how it symbolizes Tracy Turnblad, et al.
There's a couple shots of amber in the middle where you see the ring on her necklace, then it cuts to a close up and the necklace looks like the ring is in the back and it's tight around her neck, and then when it comes back to a wider shot, the necklace is back to normal...that was really the only thing I noticed.

I too thought that the one dynamite sang before the others...glad it wasn't me.
perhaps they recorded the dynamites with the intention that one girl would sing back up- and then they decided not to. ?
haha - I dunno- I am seeing it today I'll look for it.

What about when the history teacher says "aBOOT" instead of "aBOUT"? I know she's Canadian, but did no one else catch this?! Continuity in accents, people!
I did yeah.
Also, in the opening montage, you see the music store guy open the black grating all the way. Then when Tracy goes past as she's singing Good Morning Baltimore, the grate is still closed over the windows.
And the whoopee cushions Wilbur makes his bed out of are modern whoopee cushions. They are the kind that self inflate (thanks to some sort of spongy material inside of them). The whoopee cushions back then had to be blown up.
It is funny... the things I noticed where more of some of the small inside jokes. I have seen it twice now and I am just now getting the looks and the comments and the small talk that happens around the set. Like the fact that Penny's mom is reading a joke book with her rosery when tracy comes for help. It is the small things that make it even funnier the second time.
I love love love this movie.
Things like this make me happy:
A lil "Female Trouble" homage.
I noticed that during "You Can't Stop the Beat" that you can see the "agents" from a distance in their seats, then when the camera is at that same angle a little while after one of the seats is empty. It was very noticeable because the seat is orange.
May be he went to the bathroom.
True.
I wouldnt necessarily say thats a homage, when there have been plenty of movies with girls smoking in the bathroom.
well- John Waters said it was.
When Tracy has the thermomitor in her mouth she is still singing even when her mouth is closed.
