Some good cast recordings

I wanna buy a new CR, can you tell me of a good one?
I already have:
Wicked
Rent
Aida
You're A Good Man Charlie Brown
The Lion King
Brooklyn
Hairspray
Chicago

Yea, I know my collection is pretty small. I live in Oklahoma so I can't go see a show and see if I like the music or not so, I'm going to depend on your decisions.

Mamma Mia!? Just buy an Abba CD. It probably sounds better.

I definitely was stupid in forgetting Piazza, though. A must-have.

re: Some good cast recordings

i live in Texas, so I can sympathize with you about that, but your close to OCU, which I'm sure has great productions for you to see.

I recommend: A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Phantom of the Opera, Company, A Chorus Line and Jesus Christ Superstar. It looks like your collection could use some older stuff!

Cats
Starlight Express (very underappreciated!)
My Fair Lady
Guys & Dolls (I have both the one with Robert Alda and the one with Nathan Lane)
A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (either cast, they are both good, with some musical gems)
Of course SPAMALOT (for a good laugh!)

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Into the Woods (OBC) is a must also. If anything, you can just listen to the entire recording and hear a fun story told by music.

I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel.
