Someone snuck into the National theatre

trpguyy said: "It isn’t. I’m asking for someone to show me the part(s) of the video that are causing people (who don’t know what they’re talking about) to freak out. It isn’t happened yet, and I can only assume that’s because there isntanything in the video that warrants the freaking out displayed here."

Oh, I think I understand what you're saying. I still believe you're thinking is flawed, however, in that you keep insisting that someone show you something that isn't there - but exists nonetheless.

In contrast, my point is that accidents can and do occur due to the unforeseen, or the unseen

i.e., think about that carnival ride accident in Indiana a few months back - if anyone had known about, or seen the over-stressed equipment, would the accident have happened?. IF there had been video of that ride, taken an hour before the accident, could anyone really INSIST that there would be evidence in that video of an accident about to occur?

And (and I'll grant you, that this is a hypothetical) what if they unknowingly caused unseen damage, and some person or persons were harmed due to their immature stunt?

I have no objection to daredevils, or the like, but DO IT IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD, WITH YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT, WHERE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO/FOR OTHERS' SAFETY/RISK OF DAMAGE IS NOT INVOLVED.

It's how adults behave.

And if something HAD happened to them, I'm sure they'd be suring the pants off the National Theater.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was just about to edit and add a similar thought.

I'm not so sure - it is very stereotypical for people in the US to 'sue' each other. I personally couldn't imagine a bunch of (what I assume are) low socioeconomic UK 'lads' banding together to take on the National Theatre had they been injured for breaking in and undertaking dangerous activities.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

I thought about that - we are a bit "sue" happy here. That being said, should that have happened here part of the argument very well might have been

a. The theater is partly to blame since they were able to get in simply by an unlocked door.

b That they were allowed to stay without having to prove they were suppose to be there.

I should hope at the very least that the security guard who appeared and seemed content with the explanation that there was a “late night rehearsal” going on was fired.

Wouldn’t the security guard have some kind of schedule for this?

Now sure how simple it was to get to that unlocked door, seeing that they had to climb up and over a stairwell and then climb around a balcony with a several story drop with nothing under them to stop/break their fall before they could even get to the door, no?

I'm not saying I think they are at fault/to blame...only that that would be part of the defenses argument.
