What did you see in the video that you think compromised any of the equipment pertaining to the show? It’s possible I missed it, but more likely that you’re overreacting to something that you don’t understand."
I'm with blaxx. I work in theater tech, and if was a show I was working on, we'd be triple checking everything, from cabling to the pipes, to make sure that A) nothing is broken and all equipment still functions as designed for the performance and B) they didn't bump a pipe into the way of a moving set piece, that might knock it fifty feet to the stage or cause damage to a dropduring a rehearsal or performance. While it's unlikely that they caused much damage, you just do not **** around with safety in theater, when you'll have dozens of people on and around the stage, with 1100 people watching. You just don't know what these two kids did backstage while they were there, because they spent a few hours, and only uploaded about 12 minutes of video of them actually being backstage.
And it doesn't matter if a truss is designed to take the weight of a person. They are untrained, in a theater space they have never been in before. They don't know what's safe to climb and what isn't, as demonstrated by the pipe one of them used slipping when the kid put his weight on it. They could have been seriously hurt, or caused serious harm to someone else later on."
That's odd, because blaxx is obviously blissfully ignorant of the typical goings-on backstage.
But those checks are supposed to happen before every performance anyway, and if they don't, the production carp should be fired.
