The Dark Stanley sequence was a parody on Edward Gorey.
This is horribly unfunny.
The therapist is Meg Ryan....so pathetic that I know that....

Oh God, stop the Sound of Music crap.

Simpsons sucks now, but Family Guy is about a thousand times worse.
I'm flipping back between this and Grease. Now I have to stay for the Sondheim cameo!
Sondheim was actually the funniest part.
"Lemon!"
That was pretty brilliant.

Oh God, I laughed so hard! That was awesome, and so theatre geeky.
That was fabulous! Wish I could say the same for the rest of the show.

This was easily one of the funniest episodes they've done in 5 years.
If only the past 5 years were like this.
Did Sondheim write his own music?
The show after it is horribly unfunny.
The credits went by really fast, but it said that Sondheim wrote the Buzz Cola jingle (or at least the music for it)
Is it just me or did the Dark Stanley underscoring music sound extremely un-Elfman like? Was that intentional, or did someone else write it?
"Simpsons sucks now... I'm flipping back between this and Grease"
Now THAT'S funny.
The music in the episode was exceptionally good - better than usual for the show.
Danny Elfman only did the theme song; everything else is written by someone else.
That WAS really funny... I guess my only disappointment had to do with what I would have loved to see - Sondheim punching Krusty out when he said "Just do what you did in CATS!".
Still, that jingle was great. Can't wait for Bernadette Peters to sing it at a future Sondheim concert.
Just finished watching it!
Although, like BobbyBubby I think it would of been funnier if Family Guy had done it. The episode that they made fun of Annie was just hilarious.
Overall great episode with great music. It's fun that they have something like that these days for theatre lovers.

jasonf: I watched it this week because they said it'd be a musical episode.
Eh, I don't think FG does musical parodies that well. South Park does it better.
Ahh that was so funny! I loved it!
Liked the Sondheim part but expected more. Loved the Dark Stanley illustrations like Gorey's.
Alf Clauson (sp?) does all of the music for The Simpsons, with the writers doing the song lyrics usually.
I wish he could have been on longer, but he was quite funny. One of the series' best parodies of a musical since its heyday.
Sh!t Sh!t FUC*ING GOD DAMN AHHHHHHHHH. I totaly forgot. Shi!t
SondheimWHOO - if it is any comfort, the 30 second clip on fox' website was more than half of the Sondheim segment.
