So I have 3 auditions coming up and I am pretty certain on what I am thinking of singing and was wondering if I could get some input from you guys. I am 20 years old, 5'5 brown hair blue eyes. I am a natural baritone with a very strong F. Im working at my G but it isnt the strongest right now to give you an idea of my voice type. Im auditioning for the Solider and Franz in SITPWG and was thinking of singing In Praise of Women. I would probably do the lyrical section in the middle into the hip bath about that hip bath...so I can belt the final note. Then Im auditioning for South Pacific for the Roles of Cable and Billis. I really really really want Cable. And so I was going to sing Love Cant Happen from Grand Hotel. I know the ending is way too high for me but me and my voice teach kind of adapted the ending so I able to match the chord but not the A he hits. And then for Jesus Christ Superstar im auditioning for Simon or Peter. Because the music director really loves spring awakening as do I, I was thinking either the final 32 Bars of Touch Me or Moritz's part in Dont Do Sadness. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

Those are good choices (though it's usually not good to sing SA at an audition, it's fine for that one), but FYI Cable has to sing (I believe) up to an A-flat. Definitely higher than an F.

Yeah, Cable is a pretty high part. Also, the end of Touch Me is pretty high, depending on whether or not you do the riffs (which are basically written in to an extent). I would do Don't Do Sadness instead. But your other choices are really good, I think.

If you do In Praise of Women take your own accompanist.
Sondheim can be death if the accompanist that is provided cannot sight read it.
If you are using their accompanist, make it a comparatively easy song to sight read.
Thanks so far for your help. BUMP
Where does Cable have an A flat? I think it's a G (several).

Nowhere specific, I just thought those Gs were A flats
