Not sure why this one is so difficult to find.... but I'm looking for musical theatre songs about America, USA, freedom....
I have the obvious "America" from West Side Story, "American Idiot" from American Idiot, "Run Freedom Run" Urinetown, "Wheels of a Dream" from Ragtime....
Songs that come up are from places IN the USA but not about, like "Good Morning, Baltimore," which isn't what I'm looking for.
I know there's more--anything else off the top of your head? Lesser known songs and titles welcome, and something more upbeat is preferable.
Thank you!

If you don't mind sarcasm, American Dream from Miss Saigon is a good option.

Actually, "America" from West Side Story isn't really a very positive song about America - it's pretty much mostly sarcastic put-downs about how rotten Puerto Rican immigrants have it. So, there's that.
Someone mentioned "Lady's Maid" from Titanic, and that's a very good pro-America song.
"Is Anybody There?" from 1776 is another good one.
Funny you should ask! I made a playlist about 2 years ago for the 4th of July...it's a mix of optimistic songs and the sarcastic, like "America." Obviously it's missing Hamilton since it's from 2014, though.
