I probably would too. But I just have a thing to say about the title of the movie. I mean come on HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, don't you think they should've at least come up with something a little less generic?

Im deff watching it, after seeing a preview where Ashley Tisdale said "we've gotta save the show from people who dont know the different between a Tony Award and Tony Hawk"- really funny.

Hah...I have to actually admit that i like thie line "We have to save our show from people who on't know the difference between a Tony Awards and a Tony Hawk".

Link Larkin Wannabe- I agree. I though this would be terrible at first but now I feel its not a mockery, its more of a tribute to high school musicals and musicals in general.

im still gonna watch it. i just dont like how pop-ish a lot of the songs are.


and the salsa-style song, "hop to the bop" or whatever its called, that made me laugh. the trilling is one thing, but the accents...not the best, lol.

This airs Friday, January 20th at 8pm on the Disney Channel. I also will probably be watching this. I haven't watched anything on the Disney Channel since the days of the Even Stevens.

Oh God... has anybody from Disney ever seen a High School Musical? No kid in a high school musical sings like that and is taken seriously. They all way too nasal and pop-sounding, which I understand goes with the music of the movie, but still. Disney's done Broadway shows before. What exactly... I don't know. Maybe being IN a high school, I know that it's not very realistic. And I'm definitely not trying to be conceited, but they should have gone for kids who can sing in the style of Broadway shows. This sounds like a really bad rip-off of Fame.

And Stick to the Status Quo definitely sounds like You Can't Stop the Beat.

I always thought a musical about a high school musical would be a good idea, but this is not that idea.

Remember the musical "Even Stevens" episode? That was funny and entertaining. Why don't they expand on that?

"we went to the moon...in 1969...not 1970, but a year sooner..." lol.

Haha, I loved that episode. See, the reason that episode worked was because it was spoofing musicals. So it's okay that the songs were lame. Although actually, they were kind of clever. But this... oy.

I'm gonna watch High School Musical! I think it will be decent for a disney channel original movie. Some of the songs are okay. I like "Stick to the Status Quo" a lot. I'm also gonna watch this because Kenny Ortega directed it!

ew, yeah...this is not musical theatre-ish.

I'll probably watch anyway...because, honestly, what else would Parks do with his Friday nights?
