Spam*a*lot
My father used to hate musicals. I took him to see Wicked and he loved it. I think your father will enjoy Spamalot, and I hope that opens his mind to the world of musical theatre. I think you both will enjoy it.

I had a blast at spamalot. It has some monty python comedic acts but just keep an open mind through out the show. Alot of random and hillarious parts are in the show. Tell your dad to expect the unexpected.
Tickets are almost impossible to come by (except by standing for hours in line to get standing room only tickets)
It's a great show for those who don't like traditional theatre. I'm not a big fan, but I know a lot of my friends are, and it really opened their eyes to Broadway. After Spamalot, they are mow avid fans of RENT, Sweeney Todd, and Jersey Boys as well.
Tickets are not impossible. I went there on a Friday at 6pm and got tickets, good seats for $100.

We were able to get tickets without any problems. Of course, we couldn't sit together, but that didn't affect our rnjoyment of the show.
Still, tickets are hard to obtain. Yes, people have "lucky" days, but for the most part, it's difficult to get tickets. Every time I do searches I can't find anything. You might have to sit separately.
I saw it and enjoyed the show. There really isn't any storyline, unless you count King Arthur and his knights trying to find the Grail. The thing that I liked most was the dancing, choreography, and the sets/scenic design. Go in expecting a flashy piece of theatre and not a thought-provoking musical.

Thanks to everyone for information about Spamalot. We are going to check it out. If it is a thing of standing in line the day of the play, my dad definitely will not be into that. It sounds like a musical he might have fun with. He certainly doesn't like traditional ones.
Thanks again, and if we go I will report back on our experiences!
