#1Specific Reccomendations?

First of all I'm kind of new so if this thread is annoying or whatever just let it die, although answers would be highly appreciated.

Okay so I'm looking for some new shows to see, I've seen Rent 16 times, Jersey Boys twice, Spring Awakening twice, and Avenue Q twice. I also LOVED the drowsy chaperone.

I've heard mixed reviews about practically EVERYTHING so i wanted to know what shows you think I'd like.

Aside from the 5 above, I also really liked In the Heights and Aida, I enjoyed Wicked and Spamalot. I didn't love Grey Gardens or Spelling Bee. I though hairspray was a bit overrated but I didn't dislike it. I liked A Moon for the Misbegotten but thought it was way too long.

Sorry if this is too broad but I'm just curious since I'd really like to expand my viewing of shows instead of seeing the same ones over and over.

thanks so much in advance!

^ well..it was. The cast at the moment is not the best BUT Lea Salonga is in it! And it's my favorite show ever so I'd say see it!! Otherwise you'll have to wait another 3 years..

Ehm..have you seen INHERIT THE WIND or TALK RADIO! yet?

I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

I'm glad to hear that you loved Drowsy and Company. I don't know if I'd see Les Mis though. I enjoyed it, but I also got to see Norm Lewis. If you want to see it I'd get right to it before anyone else leaves. You may like Curtains.

They already saw SPELLING BEE and HAIRSPRAY.

Go for some depth. See something different.

I couldn't agree more with Munk's suggestions. Though if you didn't like GREY GARDENS some of those won't satisfy you. I think when in doubt just go for A CHORUS LINE, it's substantial and yet crowd-pleasing.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

You can't really say that just because they didn't love GREY GARDENS means they would like other more serious things. GREY GARDENS is very, very specific.

First of all THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I really do appreciate it.

Okay for the specifics:
theatredude - I'm seeing Legally Blonde Wendesday
munkustrap - I actually live in the city but I'm leaving for my job in connecticut June 20th so I don't have a whole lot of time before that.

Also i definitely want to see Journey's end thats high on my list so thanks! Saw Compnay, frost/nixon (LOVED it) and A chorus line but I'll definitely look into the others so thank you.

I'm also very interested in seeing Les Miz, the ones I'm pondering and not so sure about are 110 in the shade, mary poppins, and talk radio.

thanks again for everything.

110 in the Shade or Inherit the Wind.

"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott
