Lottery. You get $25 tickets if you win.

Standing room!

And really, it isn't bad! And it's only 25$ if I remember correctly. I thought I'd die standing for 90 minutes but really, it wasn't bad at all. You have a railing to lean on...

Lotto is going to be hard because all of the Wicked lotto losers come over...

It is on TKTS often.

Also, the side seats in the back are sold for $50.

Lotto on a Sunday night is easier than any other day, because Wicked doesn't play Sunday nights. The only lotto I've ever tried was Spelling Bee and I won my first time.

wow......thanks so much for all the advice! So for Sunday does TKTS stay open for the evening performances or do we have to go early? Do they have Spelling Bee Tix from the beginning or do they get them later on???

Thanks so much for all the advice! I might try lottery on Sunday and then if I don't get it I'll but my tix with the discount code!

Thank you

Lotto on a Sunday night is easier than any other day, because Wicked doesn't play Sunday nights.

This is partly true. They don't have an evening show, but they do have a matinee. Their matinee gets out about the time they are putting in names for the Spelling Bee night lottery. When I went, at first there were not many people, and then the Wicked matinee let out and we got a ton of those people.

I have to agree with ILoveMyDictionary. Sunday nights (or at least the time I went) the lotto was dead compared to usual. Maybe about 30-40 people there. Well worth a try.

how many people win the lottery? If you are there alone, can you still sign up?

If you try the lottery and then don't win, would you be able to just buy a ticket usually? (assuming you are alone again...i'm not a friendless loser, my family will just be elsewhere)

I bought a ticket at 7:30 last night and got a great seat.

Rentaholic- I think it's something like they give out 22 tickets maybe? Of course you can sign up if you are alone. If you don't win lottery, you can buy a regular ticket after that. And probably get a better seat since you are alone. Or you could buy SRO if they are all sold out. And it's all good- I saw Spelling Bee alone too (and Hairspray and BATB and more). Not a friendless loser, just the groups I'm with never want to see as many shows as I do.

If you do lotto and you are alone, pair up with another person who is also alone. You both will double your chances of winning. (Cheesy comment:) And you might make a friend. =)

Broadway_show_fan- I did that exact thing. Actually, with two people. I was talking to one group of three, and they said that if two of them won, I could have their extra ticket. Then, I paired up with another girl who was alone. Turned out the group of three got called twice, so I got that ticket. Then my name was called last so I got to give it to the other girl I paired up with. It was pretty weird, but a fun way to spend the evening.
