Spelling Bee Seats Question

I have a quick Circle in the Square/Spelling Bee seat question for those of you who have seen the show/been inside the theatre.

I'm seeing the show in a few weeks and have seats in that second BB row. I was wondering how they are as far as how the show is set up, the seating, the theatre itself, etc. I've never been inside, so I'm not sure what Circle in the Square is all about. I also heard something about actual risers being used in the audience besides the risers the contestants use in the show. I could be just making that up though...

Thanks for any input!

Well--there's the lottery winning seats which are two rows of "bleachers" and then there's row AA and then row BB. So technically your in the 4th row. Honestly any seat in this theater is a good seat because it is EXTREMELY tiny.

It's especially good because your also in the center.

I remember on a few episodes of Friends, they showed the exterior of the Circle in the Square Theater. That wasn't really the inside, was it? Isn't it bigger?

You will be right in front, about a few inches lower than the stage. The stage is straigh ahead and you will feel like you are apart of the show. Great seats anywhere in the theatre! Enjoy the show!

Ooh. Those are really good seats. There really isn't a bad seat in the house though. It's very different from your typical theatre. Enjoy the show!

If I'm remembering the correct episode, no that's not the inside of the theatre. It's much bigger than that, but not very big. The whole theatre is set up like a gym. The stage is only maybe 6 inches off the floor, because it's a gym floor.

I sat in the end seat on the left row AA and the seat was perfect. You will feel a part of the show at times.

I know this topic has been discussed to death, but I want to hear from someone who has actually been IN the theatre. I just purchased these tickets: 6 Tickets, Left Orchestra Row A, Seats 213-223 not really realizing that they were on the side of the theatre and I'm worried that they aren't good seats! (I chose the "best available" option when purchasing them. Has anyone been in these seats before or does anyone know if they are any good? I hate that I just spent a fortune on tickets that may not be great when I could've just chosen a different section of the theatre!

THANKS!

I bears repeating that because of the way this theatre is set up and the way the show is staged, there really are no bad seats!! Really!! The set-up is nothing like a regular Broadway theatre. The side is NOT like sitting onstage for SA and literally seeing the show from the side ...here, the side is sorta like the front!...oh you'll see what I mean! A213 would be in the middle on the side...in a way, those are PERFECT for this show! Imagine, for example, sitting on the front row on the "side" for a basketball game. Good seats, no?

PS: I was an on-stage speller a few weeks back! It was amazing... :)

Re: Circle In the Square: Wasn't there a musch smaller theatre by the same name in the village once? Maybe that is the one they show on friends? I know that all of Joey's plays were in the Lucille Lortel...I don't know if they actually filmed inside it...it sure looked kinda like it...

Ok thanks! I saw the show here in ATL and loved it. My family and I are going to NY in July and I'm taking them to see the show .. I was just hoping that I didn't screw up and buy terrible seats because I really want them to get the full experience!

I saw the show from row CC and LOVED IT. Although I must admit it was a bit weird to have some of the characters singing right at you (or so it seems) from about 5 feet away. You WILL enjoy the seats!

I just bought F218 student rush - how is it a few rows back?

Millie: There only a few rows, period, so you are never too far back. And it's stadium-style seating, with each row higher than the other, so you always have a perfect view!

It looked flat from row D on the sides, but that may have been an optical illusion.

Yes, I think the floor is flat...but it's only a few rows and I don't think there would be any visibility problems...

There is somehting missing from that original image. The two benches in front of row AA.
