I doubt it will "fly" any other thoughts?

Posted: 12/9/10 at 11:43amI would be shocked if there is not a cast cd made in the next few months.

Posted: 12/9/10 at 12:54pmAre you joking? The first score by Bono & the Edge? It'll sell even if the show runs three weeks.

Posted: 12/9/10 at 4:41pmI hope they record it. I'd buy it for "Rise Above" alone.

Posted: 12/9/10 at 5:14pmIf the show flops hard, I wouldn't be too sure. Elton John and Bernie Taupin's "Lestat" recording wasn't released. Perhaps Bono and the Edge will record a "concept album version" with Bono's vocals in lieu of a full cast album.

"Bono and The Edge perform songs from Spider-man"
is likely what we'll get before a cast recording, I'd wager.

Posted: 12/9/10 at 7:11pmThe difference between Elton John's Lestat and this, is that Lestat is not a known property like Spider-Man. Of course it'll get a recording and it will sell extremely well. If not for just curiosity alone. I know I'll be buying it. And when they release it, they'll pimp it out everywhere. All the usual stores, including WalMart I'm sure and now they can sell that puppy in the theme parks. Disney AND Universal. Just promote Spider-Man and BONO strongly (which is what they've been doing) and everyone will buy it. You'll have musical theatre fans, comic book nerds, Bono & The Edge fans, movie buffs, etc. Spider-Man is entirely too well known to NOT sell.

Posted: 12/9/10 at 10:15pmIf/when the show dies, my bet is that U2 will turn it into their next tour, with the band performing the songs, surrounded by a whole crap load of stuff from the physical production of the show.

Posted: 12/10/10 at 9:04amThere is absolutely no question. There will be a cast recording. Its a multimillion dollar show with music by Bono and the Edge. We will most likely see it in the next few months.

Two Things!
First, I hope this comes out as an album. Maybe then I'll be able to find out what half the words actually were.
Second, I actually thought the music in Lestat was much better than Spiderman, and I wasn't exactly a Lestat fan either.
