See? Even the English unjustly villify Julie Taymor.
It's the end of the world as we know it.

Julie Taymor stabbed me with a sharpened #2 pencil and than laughed and laughed.
Should I have started a new thread for that?

See -- I'm of the opposite mind here. I'd like the entire front page to be SPIDER-MAN threads. It would be worth it for teh screenshot alone.
Is this wrong? Circle one.
YES NO

Posted: 12/22/10 at 1:53pmI love these threads! I haven't seen so much misdirected anger since people claimed Rock of Ages would cause mass rioting in all theatres and end the existence of Broadway. It's like the people who believe gay marriage will destroy all families and marriages in the country, yet they forget that nothing happened in the states that already legalized it.

The video is sickening. THAT happened in front of 2000 people.
I hope the entire world is exposed to this. And Chris gets a 65 million dollar lawsuit out of it all.

Not as sickening as the guy who died during the Indiana Jones stunt show rehearsal. Where did that happen again? Oh, yeah...
And the guy who died during the Jack Sparrow tutorial. Where did that happen? Oh, yeah...
And both of those occurred right after the monorail death at...where? Oh, yeah...
Good thing they closed the park down and stopped those shows!

You speak of these fabled park deaths... Knowing that most of them don't actually die in the parks, but off company property and out of view of most people.
For an industry now 55 years old, a couple deaths is to be expected. Most of which were not the parks fault but guests deciding to disobey park rules. Yes, there are exceptions. But in comparison to other park chains, like Six Flags that regularly injures people and is known for cutting costs and not doing routine safety checks on their attractions, Disney is a saint.
Spider-Man's not even open yet. And they're close to killing.

Dragging bodies across property lines so nobody's declared dead in a magical kingdom completely nullifies your first paragraph.
Two of the things Matt mentioned were performers in shows. Shows! You should be campaiging to shut down Disneyland.
Unless of course you have moral relativity for any issue not involving Julie Taymor?

Yes, and in both of those incidents it was during rehearsal without an audience and proper time was taken to address the issue.
Spider-Man has hurt two people with an audience present in two weeks! And is canceling 1 matinee for it!

So, it's pretty clear you don't run the world and you can't control other people's actions. I guess you can resolutely decide you are not buying a ticket and you will discourage others from doing so and you have your stupid petition which is not being taken seriously and the WORST parody cartoon since Fox News tried to have a conservative sketch comedy show.
Basically, you've done all you can. Move on.

Oh, well that's better! It surely is no reflection on the safety of the park or its staff as those who died were removed from the park while they were still alive. What I reported was not "fabled". It was all over the news because it happened LAST YEAR.
For an industry now 55 years old, a couple deaths is to be expected. Most of which were not the parks fault but guests deciding to disobey park rules.
Uh...I mentioned those three specifically because two were show performers and all three deaths happened within 6 weeks in July and August, 2009. I didn't even get into guest incidents.
Unless of course you have moral relativity for any issue not involving Julie Taymor?
DING! DING! DING!
Well...that and DMM loves the drama. Not truth, mind you. Just drama.

So it's okay to die for a Disney show, just not a Broadway show?
Just because Disney has a policy to have the dead declared dead AFTER THEY ARE TAKEN OFF THE PROPERTY, doesn't mean more people haven't died there.
Like the woman who was killed on the Matterhorn...

Sounds like the issue is that there was an audience present. The problem is, the two injuries should have happened during rehearsal. That must be the point DMM is making. Right?
I just feel sorry for the audiences as well as the performers...for them to have to see that happen whilst innocently watching a Broadway show...
It can happen during a live performance of anything. An injury can occur as easily as a flubbed line or a missed lyric for any number of reasons. People pay to see a live show because it's live. Or in the case of Disney parks, almost dead.
#21Spiderman Injuries on BBC
Posted: 12/22/10 at 3:59pmI'm sure if you asked that audience, very few of them would say that they go to see live shows and aren't bothered/expect near-death experiences!

That is such blatantly false information it is almost libelous. Six Flags has a better safety record than Disney.
