AND someone told me they saw Barbra Streisand sitting in the back!!!!?!
For me the true delight was watching Mark Rylance's reactions to Joe Mantello's work. Rylance gave a very enthusiastic applause at Ellen Barkin's monologue and at the curtain call.
This was my second time seeing the show and tonight's audience was VERY responsive throughout the piece. The energy was overwhelming to the actors on stage.
Tonight was also the first of many TalkOuts planned to follow the show for various select upcoming shows. Tonight's topic was Broadway Impact and activism, the panel being Gavin Creel and Rory O'Malley.

Posted: 6/6/11 at 12:13amI was there tonight as well...Jenn Colella was sitting in my row and I also saw Asmeret Ghebremichael in the audience. It seemed like half the audience knew each other...can't remember a time I went to see a show and people were waving or calling to each other across the theater.

I believe they are all in talks to be part of the replacement cast when the current cast's contract ends July 10th.

RE: CapnHook - The Sunday evening performances on "The Normal Heart" have been filled with Broadway Actors since most of the other currently running shows only have Sunday matinees. Thus, if they're currently in a show, they can attend a Sunday evening performance. Although, this past Sunday's audiences may have been a bit more "starry" due to the TalkOut with Broadway Impact co-founders, Gavin Creel and Rory O'Malley.
Additionally, the post-show TalkOut's started back in May. Most of them have been taking place after the Tuesday night performances.
RE: FindingNamo - I'm sure Joel Grey was there to support his friends and colleagues, and not "to see how his directing turned out". Any insinuation of animosity and/or jealousy is simply uncalled for. -Now, if you had meant to include a 
in your post, well... Different story.
