Stage door locations?

Heading up to NYC in a couple of months to see 2 different shows. I'm hoping to locate the stage doors (or where performers would enter/exit) for two theaters so I can try to meet some of the actors I enjoy.

First one is Beckett Theatre on 42nd.
Second one is at Symphony Space on Broadway near 95th.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm not sure about these two theaters as I have never been to them, but if you ask an usher, they can probably tell you. I've done that before at other theaters. Good luck!

The Beckett on 42nd is part of Theatre Row, a group of small theaters housed under the same roof, so I don't think it has a traditional stage door, or if it does, it would be inside.

I BELIEVE the artists at Symphonyspace come out of a door that is inside the theatre. I think it's the one that you are facing when you walk in, which is in the back of the theatre on the house-right side. I'm not positive about this though. I also recommend that you ask someone there.

The Theater Row stage door is on Dyer Street at the back of the building. When you come out of the complex, turn left, towards 10th avenue. Dyer Street is the first street, turn left and the stage door is the last door of the building. I can't remember if the door is marked "stage door or entrance"

Theater Row sounds like a similar setup to New World Stages, which is one building that houses several theaters. NWS has a stage door on the next street over from its entrance, and that's where the performers from all the shows come out. Sounds from someone else's post that Theater Row has a similar setup.

Thanks for the information! Has the stage door changed for Theatre Row? As I was looking into it I used Google Earth and there is a door clearly marked as the stage door for the building on 41st.

I also checked out Symphony Space. It looks like that door could be on 95th. I know Symphony Space has some pretty big names coming in and can't imagine they would just waltz through the lobby before and after their shows.

If anyone can confirm either still it would be a big help.

Also I wanted to hit up UCB theatre for Zach Woods' improv this month. Is the only way in and out of that theatre the front door? It seems like it's so tiny that it's the only door in and out other than emergency exits.

I went on Google Earth as well. When I saw Lucky Guy the Musical, they did not come out of the door on 41st. If you take Google Earth down Dyer, they came out of the door next to the red bus. I wonder if there are different stage doors for different theaters within the complex. Also, they may have moved the exit since I was there about 2 years ago. Good luck!

When you see the shows just confirm with one of the usher where its located, they'll help you out.

I am considered that one of the actors I want to meet may leave before the show ends. Maybe someone could help me out with that. I'm seeing a Selected Shorts show at Symphony Space. The show is hosted by BD Wong. Since he is just the host, isn't it possible he would leave before it is over? I thought I might have to wait for him entering to have the chance to meet him.

I imagine the host stays the entire time. The problem with these theatres is actors have many options for how they exit. Many performers at Theatre Row prefer to leave onto 42nd rather than the back.
